If your young prospects take the next step fwd and are ready to play this year does this make Fleishman available?
He would be a good 2C for us behind RNH.
What would you want for him if he is available?
Maybe the oilers wouldn't be a cellar dweller every year if they concentrated on strengthening their bottom-six forwards, adding quality depth defenseman and goalies.

Realistically, Huberdeau is the only prospect to make the team this year. Next year Bjugstad, Howden, and maybe Robak or Petrovic make the team. Flash is still in the lineup for two more years.
Everyone that is currently living and will EVER live is not allowed to:
1. Suggest the Florida Panthers as candidate for contraction.
2. Deride the South Florida market because of its "non-traditionalness" (Yeah, its
a destination location with warm weather, beautiful women , beaches, and golf
courses. Its a pretty terrible thing.")
3. When I walk into a bar wearing Florida Panther regalia no one can say: "I've
never seen one of you before."
4. Assume our fans know nothing about hockey because we are from Florida.
Watching Andy in the Ottawa-Rangers playoff series and it has me thinking about all the debate we had back when on whether we should have held onto him and moved Vokoun. Seems to be another mistake, but who knows what was possibly offered, if anything, for Vokoun. Seemed we could have had a decent return.
Petrovic is a non-starter for me...the rest could be available though. There is just no way one of our top 5 prospects are available in a deal for Luongo, I'm sorry to Canucks fans but thats the reality.
A 1st and Petrovic?!... No. I wouldn't want to give up either one of those by themselves for Luongo. And then on top of that Matthias too? Not a chance. Way too much for someone we don't need. We'll just move on without this trade.

Luongo and a 1st for Petrovic. Maybe, but Im still leery. If the first is 15 or higher then maybe. But that god awful contract just doesnt make Luongo a desirable trade target imo.
Taking that overpaid choke artist would be doing them a favor so any trade would have to be us giving up NO value and salary we don't want. They want a top prospect, a top pick and a solid young player?
And I'm sick of hearing what's realistic or what's not. If I'm GM, I'm not accepting anything more expensive than that. As should any sane person, regardless of what actually happens.
