The Crunch are doing just fine. They're leading the league in points (9), goals (21), and have won 4 straight and have yet to lose in regulation.

Amazing start, no doubt, but the Admirals aren't one of the stacked teams, are they? They are "just" a great AHL team.

Well from an Anaheim fans perspective we would say yes they are stacked. However, since 99% of the public doesn't view Anaheim prospects as anything special until they are traded then maybe they are just another team.

Emerson Etem - CHL Goal scoring leader
Kyler Palmieri - Dominated the AHL for the past 2 seasons
Devante Smith-Pelley - Anaheim Ducks mainstay
Sami Vatanen - Back to back FEL defenseman of the year
Hampus Lindholm - Ducks 2012 1st round draft pick
Peter Holland - Expected to be Ducks 2nd line center
Frederik Anderson - Widely regarded as the best goalie outside of N. America. Dominated the SEL.

Those would be the notables. Mixed in with players like...
Patrick Maroon (PPG and top 5 in goals last year)
Ryan Lasch (Won the FEL scoring title last year as well as led all players in postseason scoring)

A lot of people forget that Norfolk was Tampas affiliate last year, that has now moved to Syracuse.

Bridgeport is 3-0. Niederreiter has 5 points in 3 games (3-3-2-5)

Crashing the net hard. I hope he keeps it up!

My singular complaint is that Jason Clark hasn't been dressed for the past three games. They signed him to an AHL-NHL contract. I would hope the team puts him ahead of AHL plugs on the fourth line.
Don't forget Hamonic.

And they've both been the top teams in the AHL.

Wasn't Maroon the #3 AHL scorer last year?

Well we've got one last crack at your squad on Tuesday, if the Monsters win they might be the only team that takes a season series from the Barons this year once they get their **** in order.

Awards:
Bulldogs have a nice crop of players, but lack two major components - goaltending and veteran experience. The D is pretty nice looking with Tinordi, Beaulieu, Nash, Ellis, Pateryn and St-Denis. The offense isn't as sexy as most teams in the AHL - given, they are stacked due to lockout - but guys like Holland, Gallagher, Leblanc (now injured, damnit), Geoffrion and the gang could make it difficult on AHL defense. Mayer and Delmas likely won't win a Calder Cup by standing on their head and the defense is young and inexperienced so my expectations on this season are rather low.

Still, it's a lot of fun to watch the youth play.

Remember when the Oilers were first in the west last year? Remember when the Wild were?

The Barons's forwards have scored on just 6.6% of all shots and the Monsters's forwards have scored on 12.2% of all shots. That will change.

It's ok.
The Barons have Justin Schultz. He will score all the goals.

Hall cleared for play, will start Friday on a line with Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins, and won't be playing in back to backs for a month.

Per Todd Nelson, Taylor Hall has been cleared medically and will be playing on Friday night. #OKCBarons #Oilers

Hall will start out with Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins, and will possibly integrate into a different line as time goes on. #OKCBarons #Oilers

That PP is a scary thing. Who is the 5th member of the PP?

Hall-RNH-Eberle
???-Schultz

Also, Hall's attitude to win might motivate RNH/Ebs to play with more effort now.

We have been rolling with 4 forwards out there on most of our power plays so I bet it looks something like this:

Hall - Nuge - Hartikainen
Eberle - Schultz

Hartikainen has been looking good out there so far and works as a great screen in front of the net. As an Oilers fan this is going to be fantastic to see. It's just a shame Yakupov is over in Russia and not on the Barons too!

I'll be looking for this too. Hall is the de-facto leader of the Oilers.

Yeah, Hall has always been my favourite of the young guys. His win at all cost attitude I love.

One of Paajarvi or Hartikainen most likely. My bet is Paajarvi because he's able to play the point while Hall takes Hartikainen's down low spot

One thing I haven't liked about the Barons PP is they have Eberle playing down low where Hall usually did with the Oilers. RNH literally has nobody to pass to cross ice for that one timer where Eberle used to be. Hopefully they will get back to what made them one of the best PP's in the NHL last season with Hall taking that low spot.

Agreed, Hall needs to be down low and Eberle needs to be there for the one timer/slap pass, always magic when Eberle and RNH start playing tic tac toe.

I definitely agree with the last part, everyone in Edmonton knows this is our future captain. Eberle is more of a laid back guy that loves using his skills and RNH is the same in a sense, it's not that they need motivating as players because they play a different style but Hall flying around the ice raises the urgency level of the whole team. That combined with the aggressive playing style of Schultz and even Marincin from the back-end basically being given license to go with it whenever they see an opening, makes OKC a team that will push the pace like hell. Dangerous philosophy for other teams to face in a more wide-open league like the AHL.
