Coach confirmed he's not injured. I guess Mark didn't want to add the beginning part. Via 100degreehockey site:

Coach Desjardins comments on Glennie:
"No [he's not injured]. He's gonna get ready to play and he'll be in the lineup soon. Probably in the next few games."
There's no way to interpret that but "we benched him because he came out of shape or mentally dogging it." The 3 games in the press box and 2 weeks off have been punishment and/or making him focus on his conditioning.
From the way Willie worded that there's no doubt in my mind he didn't pass his initial physical or something.
The more they say the less truth really comes out. "He's going to get ready?" I'm with Lobo, wtf? That's crap. Willie won't say they're punishing him but at this point I'm beginning to wonder if the problem is actually Glennie or the team's stance with him.
Wasn't he late showing up to training camp? Most players come early to skate with other players and he got there after camp started and missed the first practice. That should tell you most of what you need to know.

It doesnt tell us all that much because we have no idea why he was late because nothing was said of it other than a casual mentioning.

Which would lead to the doghouse suggestion.

Didn't even think of that. Could definitely be it.
Wasn't Glennie with Gary Roberts.. I don't see how he couldn't pass a physical with the program they have over there.
I don't think he was? This is what JJ McQueen the Stars' conditioning coach said about Glennie this summer:
He’s coming along and he’s working at his craft. He needs to work his upper body and get a little stronger in his legs. He’s training with a guy in Winnipeg along with (Ryan) Garbutt and Cody Eakin. He’s working to get stronger and we’d like him to continue on that path.
"When the Stars’ development camp is over, Brenden Dillon, Jamie Oleksiak, Alex Chiasson, Scott Glennie, Reilly Smith, Brett Ritchie and Luke Gazdic are expected to spend time with Roberts."
Hmm... I really have no idea how he could be out of shape then if he actually went there. Maybe he just didn't go? Honestly nothing would surprise me at this point.
3 horrible season starts in a row. I think these guys are being vague with their answers because they could be protecting him from our media. I know it's Dallas and we're a small market, but it's no secret how the hardcore fans feel about him.

From the sounds of the quote, he was only there for a small portion of time. Not the whole summer workout.
If 100 degree hockey's quote is right .... I'm guessing he was out of shape which makes him the 2nd 2009 Top 10 pick to report to the AHL out of shape this year (Kadri was the other).

it seems likely and if so its interesting that theyd take a completely opposite route with Glennie that Toronto did with Kadri.
Yeah. I just think "out of shape" like others have already mentioned is the only way a player is healthy but needs to get ready to play.
A lot of this could be getting the system down as well. That would be incredibly ridiculous, but also possible. If true, then he obviously needs to be on another team ASAP.

Oye ... you're right but that would be miserable. Can't play because you can't figure out a system on the fly. Out of shape is bad (and pathetic) enough. Hopefully it's not more than that.
