Had some Paulaner Oktoberfest at an Oktoberfest bash a couple of weeks ago. Very good.

Thank you for the input Sir. It looks like I'll go ahead and try it.

Getting a big 1 litre mug with it justifies the purchase alone.

Apparently Stone has released a collaboration beer with Iron Fist and Ken Schmidt which is a Mint Chocolate Stout. I decided not to go to the liquor store today, but next week I'm going to see if I can find it (need to special order that Appleton XO 12 rum, anyway). Sounds like a winner.

Took some pics of my beer glasses, think my SIII's lens was greasy or something though, have to take better ones later. Got the Chimay, Draak, and Bavaria ones last week.

Just had Elysian's Dragonstooth Stout. Very good and smooth, had a nice strong taste but not over the top.

Also picked up some Indian Brown Ale today. I love drinking it this time of year.

Picked up two more six packs of Samuel Adams Boston Lager, two six packs of Heineken, a six pack of Stella Artois and a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label this evening. I also purchased one of those Paulaner Oktoberfest gift packs with the 1 litre can of beer and the stein after all.

I also smoked a Cohiba Siglo III cigar today. It was OK. For a Cohiba it was decent, but for $30 per cigar I've had better.

Edit: The delivery people ****ed up when they were supposed to get my bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label. They gave me a bottle of "Hiram Walker Special Old Whiskey" instead.

Drinking that 750ml of Trois Pistoles. Delicious. Need to find it in a four or six pack so I don't have to drink it all at once.

Finally decided to buckle down and try scotch today. I grabbed a 200 ml. bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label and a 375 ml. bottle of 12 Year Old Glenfiddich Single Malt.

So far I'd say that the Johnnie Walker Black Label is OK. Haven't tried the Glenfiddich yet.

Wish I had a cigar to pair my scotch with.

Finished my 200 ml. bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label. I don't think I'd buy it again. Even though it's a blended scotch, it has too much of that smokey/peat flavour for my liking.

Hopefully I'll enjoy the 12 Year Old Glenfiddich Single Malt alot more.

It reminds me of Thai coffee. Which is a good thing. (I didn't say that like Martha Stewart)

Laphroaig is my scotch. nearly tastes like iodine (that's the peat making it's presence known).

To the folks who are familiar with downtown (especially the beer drinkers):

1) What are the best lunch spots in downtown?

2) What about happy hour?

I know Sharp Edge has 1/2 off brews during happy hour, which is pretty decent... but I'm still trying to get familiar with what downtown has to offer.

Had that on tap at the BeerHive in the strip last weekend. Realllly good.

I don't know if they sell packs of anything other than the Maudite, but I recommend checking out the "Find Our Beers" tab on Unibrou's website.

Just picked up a case of Magic Hat Hex. One of my favorite beers from my favorite brewery. I'll be pleased if it lasts a week. So good.

Finally cracked open the 1 litre can of Paulaner Oktoberfest that I had in my fridge earlier this evening.

Was delicious. The huge 1 litre Paulaner Oktoberfest branded mug I got with it is great too. A very nice mug for a great beer.

I just wish I could buy Paulaner Oktoberfest now in individual cans...sadly we can only get it here if you buy the giftpacks with the 1 litre can and mug.

Big Black Jack is pretty decent. It's an imperial chocolate pumpkin porter from Oakshire. Cocoa, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and of course pumpkin are the flavors here. I'd put it up there with Dark o' the Moon as one of the better pumpkin beers out there.

Went to Rivertowne in Monroeville last night. Got the scotch ale...highest alcohol content there (10% I believe). We pretty good. A little too much floral note to it. I would have rather it been more of a nutty flavor. Also had the brown ale, which was pretty good. It was more of that nuttiness that I was looking for in the scotch ale. Got the pumpkin ale...meh. It was ok. I love that restaurant though.

You'll know that you've bottomed out when you swap out the Dr. Pepper for Dr. Thunder or Mr. Aahh.

East End Nunkin Ale: very surprised that I liked this. When I saw the ingredients, I wasn't sure I'd be on board. Nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and no pumpkin. My feelings on most of these beers is that most places go overboard on the spice and it kills the flavor of the beer. But what set this beer apart from the others is the vanilla. Definitely makes the beer that much smoother to drink.

I'd probably put it up there with Pumking and Punkin on the pumpkin beer scale, possibly even above it.

$13 if you have one of their growlers, $16 if you don't. In either case, it's worth it.

I have a liter Chimay glass in my stash. Still have it boxed up since there isn't a whole lot of cabinet space in my apartment and with what looks like an upcoming move in January, no sense on unboxing it only to box it back up in a few weeks.
