"They are totally different people from us". Really? Wow, didn't notice. Why do you have to make headlines? Just play hockey SK.
Then why re-sign with us if you hate it so much over here?

Why didn't the writer quote him saying that he hated it here? he quotes him saying how different it is, but not that he hates it. I'd assume that with his brother signing with the KHL, if he truly hated NA that he would be happy to have followed Andrei back over instead of re-signing.

As for saying it's better for the season to be canceled, financially no it doesn't make sense, but just from a personal standpoint yes it's a lot better for the guys to play all season in one place. I was reading a poll of professional athletes in the big 4 sports and one of the questions was about being traded during the season. The overwhelming majority of players voted that the most difficult part of the trade was the relocation. They said it's easy to adjust to new teammates and fans, and they felt like they fit in with the new team within a game or two. But it was adjusting to the move, and making a new home that was the difficult part, they say getting to the rink/field was a good escape from the giant headache of relocating their family and adjusting to a new city. So I definitely feel like that's what Sergei was saying there.

All good points Leg. I don't think people realize how hard it is to up and move your life for a 6-12 months period. I realize it's a case of broken english most of the time with these guys, but the Columbus comment still rubbed me the wrong way. Even if I'm not a big fan of Columbus at all.

Big Ben had this on his facebook site. Translation. You can decide for yourself:

http://translate.google.com/translat...0-22%2F14_1%2F

My take: So it's fairly obvious he's not the Cloakroom Crusader, but I think this has been taken WAY out of context.

And I probably took the quote a little out of context when I used the word hate. Thanks for helping out.

This is why we absolutely have to sign Andrei up here.

Unsurprisingly (to me at least), Kostitsyn was misquoted by the Russian media.

Quote:
“The question the Russian reporter asked was if I will live in America after the end of my career,” Kostitsyn said. “I said probably not because my friends and family live here in Belarus.”
Quote:
“I just want to say I really enjoy America and Nashville,” he added.

“We all want to get back to hockey in the NHL and a full year and an 82-game season, but we need to reach a deal that is fair and we need to respect contracts that are already signed. It’s only fair,” he said. “But if we have to, we will sit out the whole year.”

You need a laugh. We all need a laugh. Download the Marek vs. Wyshynski Oct 26th podcast, you will get to hear the famous Terry Crisp 'Soccer kick' audioclip.

For you ATL fans, listen to this and you will understand why us old time fans will chuckle when we hear the term 'soccer kick' and Cale Hulse together.

This whole lockout ******** is making me hate hockey.

They seem to agree about the 50-50 part, but yet they can't even get to the table to actually talk to get the rest settled. They are both too stubborn and locked into a game of wills. It is totally unacceptable that there even is a lockout right now. It hasn't even been 10 years since we lost an entire season and now here we are again. This should have been a last resort, not a starting point for negotiations. (HA! What negotiations?!)

What's going to make this lockout even worse, the fact the Blue Jackets are going to get astronomically better. They have 3 1sts, a slightly better chance at getting Nate Mac. Their defense is better, playing together in a good league in the AHL.

The plus is that the Red Wings are going to be worse, older, and not getting any younger.

Of course, if the Red Wings were to get the #1 pick if we lose the season. i WILL set myself on fire.

Elliotte Friedman identified his list of hardliners in his 30 Thoughts last week. He thought the Preds and Lightning actually fell among the moderates - people who wanted some changes but were willing to accept concessions to get the season going. He named Anaheim, Columbus, Florida, the Islanders, Phoenix, St. Louis, Washington and Dallas as likely hardliners - people who don't want a season until they get what they want on the CBA.

http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/opin...-refrains.html

And yesterday's news is very promising. 7+ hours of contiguous negotiating with no posturing to the media afterwards and more extensive meetings today. Come on hockey!

*Sigh* you know that if we didn't have these two !%^#@!@&^%$!@ lockouts Trotz would be a top 10 coach in games regular games coached and regular wins.

He would be at about 580-600 wins, and 1180's for games coached.
