I don't think Sanchez was completely terrible today. He made a couple good throuws and probably wins if Hill catches that ball

Everyone will ignore that though. The guy leads the team 90+ yards down field where he completes 9/10 passes to get the Jets within 3 and he still receives all the blame. He made some mistakes no question but anyone faulting him for the loss is nuts. Should he have tucked the ball away on the final play? Yes but no one seems to mention that the offensive line completely hung him out to dry there.

Play calling was also questionable. 3rd and 1 down at the 2 and you throw a slant to Chaz Schilens? Greene hasn't been stopped on a 3rd and 1 all year. Wasn't sure about running the ball multiple times in OT either. Sanchez was beating them down field yet they still elected to run it on first down multiple times.

Team loss today. Bad mistakes (Sanchez pick, the Greene/Sanchez fiasco, defense not stopping the Pats at the end and in OT, special teams mistakes with penalties and the run back) did them in.

All 3 turnovers were on Sanchez and costly

1st fumble - He screwed up exchange as he started losing ball ,, That led to 2 pts for NE
The INT - Truly dreadful ,, Should have been TD with most QB's or at least a FG
2nd fumble - He needed to protect ball instead he tried to throw it away as he was going down

And #NFL should absolutely look at Gillette clock operator and how Pats in effect got an extra TO before 2min warning..had big impact

Just some food for thought. Watched the replay and the clock seemed to stop as soon as the Jets fell on it as opposed to being touched or tackled. You'll usually see an extra second or two tick off on those piles for fumbles too.

While true, I think that's nitpicking. End of the day, Stephen Hill catches that pass, their either get a touchdown and force the Pats to drive the whole field (instead of just enough for a field goal), or they give the Pats the ball back with a lot less time on the clock. They didn't lose the game because of that extra second. And since they had the ball, I couldn't even say that second is why it went to OT in the first place. The Jets still had every chance to put the game away, or make it that much more difficult for the Pats. The clock seemed iffy at a point or two, sure. But that wasn't big enough to warrant the attention in my eyes.

Definitely. Just found it interesting, didn't notice that until I saw the tweet and looked back at the replay. Thought the Jets played well for the most part but again, crucial mistakes did them in. Play like they did today and they will beat Miami next week.

Exactly. Not many QBs are going to get away with 3 turnovers. Especially one as awful as Sanchez.

One solid drive does not make up for his awful play most of the game. I've noticed he has a habit of trying to throw the ball away as he's getting sacked. Jeff Garcia used to do the same thing, but in a different sense. Garcia would be wrapped up, see an elgible player in the area and spike it towards his feet to prevent a loss. Sanchez sees an elgible player and still throws it as if he has a chance of completing it. This is the NFL dude. That's not happening. He did it twice today, probably more but I wasn't entirely focused on the game, but most noticably on the last play. He's gotta tuck that ball in and cut his losses.

He has enough talent to be a solid backup in this league, but I really don't think he will be a starter for much longer unless he improves his decision making.

...............All I am going to say if not for that fumble and horrible call by refs in regulation the giants wouldn't be SB champs.

Kicking the ball out for the safety was actually a pretty smart move by Sanchez, that was the best possible result in that situation. Any other reaction (like picking up the ball and trying to run it out) would result in him getting clobbered and the Patriots getting the safety anyway, or the Patriots getting a TD out of it.

True ,, But if he never fumbles the situation is not an issue

Still 2 pts he gave Pats

Time for the weekly Cutler interception pool. Over/Under is 1.5.

I feel like Cutler has been sacked or thrown an INT on the first offensive play of every game this year.

Could be way off, but it seems that way, at least.

Bears are undefeated when he throws an INT on his first pass

That's a bizarre stat, has to be entirely luck.

I need Marshall to put up a nice 22 points to win my fantasy game for the week.

Possible albeit improbable

I was curious so I double checked it. In his 5 games this year, the first pass play has resulted in 2 sacks, 2 incompletions, and 1 interception.

Last time he completed his first pass play for a positive gain was November 13, 2011.

I'm down 29 with Marshall and Forte against Hanson.

Need a combined 220 yards and a TD or 150 yards and 2 TDs beween the two, plus some insurance to cover Hanson. It'll be close.

Acutally 2-0 this year when Cutler throws pick on his first pass

(Vs Indy for pick 6)
(Vs Jax)

Both games his first pass he got off was picked

Another hopeful factor is that Cutler has been great vs Lions as a Bear
