Eberle, Gagner and a 2nd for Toews

Chicago would more scoring out of Ebs and Gagner then having just Toews. Oilers get a proven young leader. Fair deal?

It would take Eberle + RNH at least.

Last year, Eberle had 76 points.

Dan Paille, Greg Campbell, Brian Rolston, and Benoit Pouliot combined for 87 points.

Would you trade Eberle for a package of those 4 players?

No need from either team, Jon is the Hawks main guy.

Eberle to edmonton is younger, and produced just as well as Toews did last year. Overkill to throw Gagner in there and a pick.

Makes no sense for either team either way.

It doesn't matter. Toews will sign in Winnipeg when he hits free agency

Eberle and Toews would be close to untouchable a player could get for their respective teams.

This thread could get ugly, usually is when Gagner is mentioned going to the Hawks.

the is my reaction. Eberle is the best pure goal scorer the olers have and a case could be made toews plays the game Hall does. But Toews is the heart and soul of the hawks and the guy who rallys the troops

Youre underrating Toews here. He's just a notch below the very very best centres in the world. He's highly skilled, gritty, great defensively, a good leader, and plays his best when it matters the most.

Did Crosby win best forward award at the Olympics? No, that was Toews. He also won the Conn Smyth. Eberle played well at the WJC in clutch situations... But then again, so did Toews. Eberle has a lot to prove, and even though he'll likely average more points a season, he wont come close to controlling the game the way Toews can, impacting the team on the defensive side of the puck, playing physical, etc.

Precisely.

This would be a big win for the Oilers.

This would be one of the few trades where I might consider moving Eberle. Even then it would be tough to do.

The difference between Eberle and Toews is not a 30 - 40 point, one-way center who is bad at faceoffs and defense plus a second rounder. And I really like Eberle. Toews is just one notch below Crosby/Malkin on the untouchable scale. Not gonna happen...

Really?! Eberle is great, but you would seriously have a tough time moving him for a player who puts up about the same offense , and is one of the best young leaders in the game? Wow.

Hawks won't trade Toews.

Simple as that.

Chicago says hell no. Nothing worthy of debate here.

Yes, but I'll readily admit it is for sentimental/homerism reasons more than anything. I would trade anyone on the Oilers roster before Ebs. I realize I am in the minority on that.

This proposal represents everything wrong with the trades section.

The funniest part is that the pick is just a 2nd, wouldn't want to overpay by including a 1st I guess, lol.

As an oiler fan--I believe eberle will score 50+ goals shortly so some people might think 50+ goals in a year could be a good thing
