I can't stop watching that over and over again. Hank is just like, "Really? You're trying to hit me with that weak ****? Do you realize I've been doing this for a long time against guys a lot bigger and tougher than you? Get on my level."

He said that the pace was quicker in the swiss league compared to the swedish, BUT that it was so much harder to score in the swedish league due to the system and the defensive skill through out the league.

And if you take a look at the highlights posted here, i understand why.

A mix of the leagues would be good (but i guess that's the KHL)

Granted, it's lesser league, but man what Mursak is doing is impressve. He's got a point in every game IIRC.

Omark did lead the league in scoring, albeit briefly, two weeks ago, but he was third (one point below Brunner) by the time Zetterberg came to town.

That may be true. However, it is not a questions of points. We are all able to read the statistics (http://www.nationalleague.ch/NL/spie...hp?season=2013). But what I was trying to say is, that Omark hasn't played as good as you may have the impression because of his points. It is very easy to catch an assist in a 5 vs. 3 Powerplay together with Brunner, Diaz, Holden and espacially with Zetterberg.

And don't get me wrong, Omark has not played badly, but it is not like "this line needs to be kept together as they only can work with each other." In the case of Brunner and Zetterberg yes. Omark not.

That'd be correct. The stats are very inflated tough, as Zug is basically carried by that line alone (including Diaz on the blueline). The arrival of Zetterberg pushed that into the ridicoulous-category (he's tied 3rd in Goals after 2 games for the team, behind Brunner and Omark).

Valtteri Filppula in today's game against the No.1 team of SM-Liiga.

OCT 23, 2012: JYP @ JOKERIT 0 - 1

Yup, Mursak line is impressive and more guys are showing up in that league.

GP G A TP PPG PIM +/-

8 5 12 17 2.13 0 12 (Mursak)

3 2 3 5 1.67 0 2 (Dustin Jeffery)

4 0 6 6 1.50 4 -1 (Bryan Bickell)

6 3 5 8 1.33 2 -2 (Thomas Vanek)

5 3 2 5 1.00 0 1 (Micheal Grabner)

6 0 5 5 0.83 8 -2 (Andreas Nodl)

Now obviously Vanek and Grabner should jump out because they have a history of scoring in the NHL.

Who needs 7 million Semin, when you can have this guy? He is a carbon copy how Alex Semin snipes his goals.

13 games in Swiss league, 9 goals, 15 assists, 24 points.
1 European Trophy game, 1 goal, 2 assists.

Total 14 games, 10+17=27.

Damien Brunner, best pure scorer in Europe.
(and we have, Thornton, Giroux, Briere, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Malkin, Kovalchuck etc. in here...)

Zug must zuck pretty badly as a team? They get this amazing first line scoring, and the line is also in heavy plus, yet they lose more than they win.

No defense aside of Diaz and literally no goaltender (They need to "borrow" goaltenders from other teams!) since both their starter and backup are injured.

They may have one hell of a first line, but the rest of their offense is below average. It got better after Zetterberg arrived, because they could move Holden to the second line, but their depth is still questionable.

It's one of three teams (Bern, Davos and Zug) which had a surprisingly bad start in the new season. One with questionable coaching, one with a massive load of injuries and aging core players and one team with a non-existent depth.

The swiss league should really do something about the company logo's, they're everywhere... and then what's up with silver helmets, yellow helmets when the jersey isn't even yellow?

I think the yellow helmet is for the team leader in scoring. It also says top scorer on his back if you notice in the highlights. The other team had a d-man wearing a yellow helmet on the first goal on ice and their leading scorer is a d-man Segar, so that is what I am guessing.

Yep, RedWings19405 is right.

While were at it: The depth of the weak Zug defense will even get worse. Defenseman Blatter will surely get suspended for his hit against Ambühl in the same game:

Should not overvalue making points in the swiss leuage, specially against the bottom teams, seguin made a hatty against ambri piotta yesterday, a team with only 8 p in 15 Gp.

I really like what i see in Brunner, hes fast and gritty and the nhl could suit him fine.
I have always liked outsiders, Brunner played in swiss division 3 when he was 20 years old, then he showed next to nothing in 2,5 seasons in 1st division, before he came to zug in the middle of the season 08/09. He had 0 p in 12 Gp in kloten starting that season, he went down to division 2 a couple of games, he then came to zug and exploded there and has never looked back.

Maybe some swiss/wing fan know this guys story, its unusual and would be very intresting to hear about

Ps. Crazy stuff to mark the best scorer with a yellow helmet, the teams defenders must be happy about it!

What a stupid and blind puckmover. The guy comes in front (no blind-side) the puckmover sees the guy, and does nothing. Where's the survival instinct? The hitter does not jump, does not raise his arm/elbow and just flies over because of the laws of physics. The arm hits straigth to the head, because this puckmover dives against head first. How dumb can you be?

God I hate those stupid puckmovers. Keep your head up!

The guy (puckmover) does need to do a better job of keeping his head down. But sorry this is still a pretty bad hit. He lines the guy up and then extends his elbow through the hit, it isn't tucked to his side. He also explodes upward leaving his feet. I don't know how suspensions are handled in the Swiss league, but guy is lucky he doesn't play in the NHL, because even as a first time offender he might be looking at 10 games there.

Jokerit played back-to-back game today. Valtteri Filppula in today's game against the No. 2 seeded team in the FEL. Actually, Jokerit is now second as they won Espoo Blues.

OCT 24, 2012: JOKERIT @ BLUES 2 - 1
G 0, A 0, P 0, +/- +0, PIM 2, S 2, TOI 26:53

Val's stats after 12 games: G 5, A 7, P 12, +/- +7, PIM 6, S 33, average TOI 24:43

Good news on Teemu Pulkkinen. He scored a goal today. 1+0=1, +1, PIM 0, 8 S, TOI 13:30. He has now 2+3=5 in 16 games. +/- -1, PIM 33, S 69 and average TOI 14:19

Highlights of the game later on.

Next game is on Friday. It's Jokerit's 45th birthday game against Tampere Ilves (Lynx). Ilves is the most prestidigous team in SM-Liiga. The Canadiens of Finland you could say. Ilves has 16 Championships on it's belt. Ilves today is quite simply bad. They were the last team of the League last season and this year they're at the bottom again. The game is special and Jokerit will wear special red-yellow jerseys for that one game only.

Does it look good, well... Valtteri on the right, obviously.
