Is anybody familiar with Power Amp? I just downloaded the trial version and it seems to suit my needs better than the native music player app. Is it worth the 5 bucks to get the full version, or are there equally good free music players?

I never bought it but in the time I used it (when I was running stock Android on my HTC Magic) it was a far superior music player to the stock one.

For me, yes. Save for wireless syncing it has everything. It plays almost every format, including FLAC (which I tried out for the hell of it and it played fine) and has a whole bunch of sound/equalizer settings.

Plus it's really pretty and I like that if the music has no album art you can search for and download it.

I'm with Hammer about the full version of Power Amp. I purchased it when I got my first Android device. I haven't found anything yet that matches its looks or functionality.

@ McSorleyStick: What happens when you connect your phone to a USB? Does the USB Debugging status flash at the top of the screen when you plug/unplug?

It may be possible that your USB port has something in it or the contacts may be corroded a bit (prone to sweat/moisture when in pockets or in hand). Try cleaning it out with a blast of air or scraping the contacts with a bit of wire. Dipping a corner of a paper towel in some rubbing alcohol/isopropyl should do a good job of cleaning it as well. Just be careful with the port as the plastic tab is easy to break.

The thing is though, he doesn't have USB Debugging enabled.

From what I've read, it can appear without it being enabled.

Best purchase I've ever made. It's the only music player I know of that has highly proficient gapless playback. The 10-band EQ is also unbelievable.

Only wish it had access to Google Music streaming. Oh well.

I'll echo this, though I rarely use it anymore because I pretty much use Google Music exclusively.

I wouldn't count on a price reduction for the Nexus 7. As the "Staples" link above suggests, the official prices of the Nexus 7 are expected to be $199 for 16GB and $249 for 32GB. Those prices take effect on October 29th, the day of the Google event that's also announcing the 10" model. The 10" model will probably be available in mid/late-November (per Google's way), so it'd be strange to change your pricing again just 2-3 weeks after your last change.

What you may be able to do is buy the phased-out 8GB model for cheap or a used Nexus 7 from someone who upgraded to the 10" model, though. I'm just saying that the official price is likely not to change again any time soon.

As for the 10" model pricing, my personal guess is that it could be as low as $299 for 16GB and $349 for 32GB. That would make the 10" $100 more than the 7", which seems reasonable. An alternate possibility could be $329 for 16GB and $379 for 32GB, but with $25 Google Play credit, like the Nexus 7 debuted with. Any more expensive than that, though, and people are more likely to turn to alternatives (like the iPad, iPad Mini, Best Buy's tablet or even just the cheaper Nexus 7).
The iPad mini - with a slightly bigger screen (7.85"), a bit thinner and lighter, and significantly more expensive than the N7 - comes out at:

Wi-Fi: $329 (16GB), $429 (32GB) and $529 (64GB).
4G/LTE: $459 (16GB), $559 (32GB), $659 (64GB).

A $130 premium over the N7 for 16GB and a $180 one for 32GB.

Boy, I must be slow. I never realized before that the Android confectionery went alphabetical - Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Key Lime Pie.

Now I'm getting hungry. Any rumors of the sweet beginning with "L".

There are rumors of a Nexus 10.

I don't think KLP is soon to be honest. It's not in Android user's best interest for Google to ramp up update speeds again.

I'm still leaning towards a Nexus 7 over an Ipad mini.

It's the Linux naming convention as far as I know.
