Tor - Van (Bozak & Hansen)

To Toronto

Jannik Hansen

To Vancouver

Tyler Bozak

The Canucks have been looking for a number 3 C to slot behind Kesler and Sedin. Bozak can also move up into the top 6 incase of injuries, seems like an excellent fit.

The leafs have a lot of offensive wingers, but lack defensive wingers. Hansen is a premier 3rd line winger.

Vancouver down the middle... Sedin - Kesler - Bozak - Malhotra/Who ever

Leafs Wings

Lupul-Kessel
JVR-Kadri/Frattin/MacArthur
Kulemin-Hansen
Steckle-Brown/Komarov

No thank you. Hansen brings more to the table than Bozak, and that's while playing a bottom-6 role.

Why trade Bozak for Hansen when you can get Luongo. Just kidding.

Bozak is over looked around here. Sure he is overrated by many Leafs fans, but he is severely underrated by some people as well.

The Canucks actually do win this deal, because they have players that can replace what Hansen brings.

Hansen is much better than Bozak imo. Can't see the Nucks going for this.

I personally dont want to part with hansen. He is an ideal 3rd line winger imo. The value is probably fine, hansen just means alot to us. He also slots in with the sedins when needed, and performs very well with them. On the 3rd he often brings energy, and some big hits. He is very defensively responsible, and can score as well.

I just dont want to trade a guy who makes 1.9, very versatile, well rounded, causes no issues, and does whatever hes asked, for something that wont make us substantially better.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Hansen is the core of our bottom six. Say what you will about Higgins or Lapierre or even Malhotra, but Hansen is our best player and can fill literally any role.

We're not trading him for Bozak. I'd part with Raymond, but NYR offered Boyle...

No thanks.

Hansen is like our version of Simmonds.

We get smaller and lose the certainty of contract status. No thanks Bozak holds value, but as a roster player add in for a package type deal.
Not in a one for one in a well priced and ever improving Jannik Hansen who posted highs in goals and points last year and makes less than Higgins and Raymond.

Canucks say no.

Hansen is the perfect bottom 6er who can also fill in for the top 6 in case of an injury. (I understand that I just described Bozak as well but Hansen is better.)

Both teams say no.

Bozak isn't our best center, but he is the only center that has chemistry with Kessel so we shouldnt trade him unless we are filling a need. We are not in desperate need of a defensive winger imo.

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Grabo-Mac/Kadri
Kulemin-Connolly-Frattin
Komarov-McClemment-Brown

This is pretty bad for the Canucks. Hansen is the type of guy everyone wants in their bottom 6: cheap, can hit, some grit, speed, decent scoring touch, defensively responsible, pk, and versatile enough to step into the top 6 if needed. Canucks would be dumb to trade him in any type of deal.

I guess you don't know much about Hansen's role on the Canucks then?

Who replaces Hansen as a gritty 2-way right handed natural right winger who can kill penalties and lineup against opposition top lines while contributing offensively?

Hansen is one of only 2 right handed wingers in the Canucks system that is NHL quality... the other being Kassian, who's still developing and doesn't bring anywhere near the defensive game or can play the PK roles that Hansen can. The only other wingers on the team that can play a similar role are Burrows and Higgins, both left shooting players, with Higgins hitting UFA after this season.

He's signed for another 2 yrs at a $1.35mill cap hit. Why would we trade a player like that for a rental piece? Isn't Bozak a UFA after this season?

Hansen is much more valuable to the Canucks than any team would be willing to offer.

We dont need any more wingers (unless your talking star) we cant trade one of out top 6 centers for a winger, unless we getting a C in another deal

Suggestion:

Jannik Hansen + Dale Weise

For

Tyler Bozak + Mike Brown

Honey Badger (Hansen) is a fan favorite. Although I think he is our most expendable player after Luongo (high value, but relatively replaceable by Raymond or Kassian).

Kudos tothe OP for something abit different.

Even with Brown and Weise though I dont know if i do this trade... Not sure how I feel.

Weise did pretty well last season playing Malhotra minutes as a rookie. I can see him turning out like Hansen (poor man's version).

I don't think Bozak would be the idea fit for the Canucks' 3C - a decent enough one, though. Losing Hansen would be really troubling though, Kassian doesn't have his defensive abilities/speed to replace him there and Weise has no apparent offensive upside. He's also shown he can play with the Sedins when push comes to shove.

So eh, we'd be trading a need for a need that doesn't quite fills the need.

I think Weise is actually a pretty underrated player. Has the tools to be a decent bottom 6 guy. No one seemed to pay attention to the fact he probably played the hardest minutes of any rookie in the NHL.

Im a big fan of Brown however, played a strong defensive role (low o-zone start %) and is a physicalguy.

I quite like Bozak, would like to have him on the Canucks. Would not trade Hansen for Bozak straight up though.

Problem here would be not having enough centermen to fill Bozaks role(I'm looking at you Tim Connolly). I'd do the deal but it leaves a huge hole for us.

Ah, that explains your proposed deal. I'm a fan of Weise actually. I think he's got offensive upside to become more. He just needs the opportunity (Meaning, he needs not to start almost exclusively in the Dzone!)

Hansen for Bozak is a no go for me as well.

Leafs don't touch this deal. Give up a centreman for ANOTHER winger?

When I think 3rd line centre, Bozak's name does not come to mind.
