Even with Leblanc in the lineup the Bulldogs are not as good as the Amerks. Having Hodgson on their team makes a major difference. Guy has great vision and hands. That being said, Palushaj and Geoffrion need to play better. Geoffrion is clearly not playing well at center. He is more of a winger. Also I feel bad for Dumont as he is playing with two completely useless players with the pucks on their sticks.
Palushaj isn't playing that bad, just not getting the bounces his way right now. Agree that Geoffrion isn't playing how is supposed to but still is not playing all that terrible.
Not sure how incredible it is.....I like Bournival, but when he's your most dangerous offensive weapon, you know that points, goals and assists will be hard to come by.
Like I kept saying, we should have done what was necessary to add 1 or 2 offensive vet AHL'ers instead of going with fillers....
I agree with the lack of firepower up front and that the pts will be tougher to get for Beaulieu, Im just pointing out how many scoring chances he got so far and no pt out of this.. While we lack offense, thats a developmental league and I dont necessary agree with you about adding skilled AHLers, those kids will learn through pain and hard work, they wont have it easy but you learn from adversity, so I dont really care about the final score, I just want to see them improving..
I was expecting more from Gallagher, it is still early though and perhaps he will take a while to figure out how to best get by with his height at this level

His acceleration and first step are not quick enough at the AHL level yet. Also when he gets in tight, he simply gets pushed off the puck or he cant even reach the puck. But the effort is there and he has character and scoring instincts.
Personally, I thought Beaulieu played good, but not as good as some of you are saying.
He multiple turnovers, and had made some dumb passes in his own zone. Sure he got lucky and recovered from them, but you simply can't be making those.
Offensively, he looked great. Very comfortable and moved the puck with ease. His passes were crisp and right on the tape. He also pinched at good times.
Is there something that I am missing from tonight's game?

If you put Palushaj's skill set in Geoffrion's body, you would have one good player. However, Palushaj is a bit soft and has trouble getting to the dirty areas, while Geoffrion does not have the puck skills or shot to properly take advantage of what he wants to do. Point is that at they are supposed to be "star" players at the AHL level and they need to be for the Dogs to be a consistent team.
Watching these games almost feels like preseason, in that, the score's less important to me than the individual performance of our prospects. I really do want them to win and all, but I'm more excited about the potential of seeing my favorites with the big team, so it's wtv.
The strong play of the top of the Amerks forwards obscured how well the middle of the Bulldogs Fs were fairing. The game was pretty even on 5 on 5 despite Rochester owning the puck when Hodgson was on the ice. Kudos especially to the strong play of the 2nd line.
Likewise, Beaulieu-St.Denis were very strong and controlling the balance of play, they got the puck into the offensive zone and made it stay there.
If this was a normal AHL year this would be a pretty decent team even with all the rookies. They have no problem matching up against other AHL level talents, its the lack of NHL talents to counter what the other teams have this year that seems to be the problem.
