It'd definitely be nice to be able to throw out a kid line (that is also defensively responsible and can be trusted on the dot, mind you) to give the team energy, as they always seem to be lacking in that department.
I still wonder what would've happened if Zubov was 100% for that playoff run. And what would've happened if so many absurd calls hadn't gone against Morrow.
Eh, the playoff run that year ended in Game 5 in San Jose imo. Morrow would his goal called back that would've been the winner in the end, sent us to Game 6...which absolutely killed the team in the end imo. Detroit was over there resting up while (despite how fun it was to finally win a long overtime game) were giving it our all in four overtimes.
Completely believe we would've given Detroit a better run that season had we ended the series in San Jose.

Hey guys, just got home from the Plano Stars Center. The players did drills for the first hour. There was a 3 12-min period scrimedge after they zammed the ice. Team Black beat Team White 8-4. Bachman looked really good (he was on the Black team, I think Dubnyk or some Oilers backup was the only other goalie there). The black team pulled Bachman with 2 min left to be funny. And yes, Bachman was wearing that new Stephen King mask (looked sick).
Daley, Fidler, Nystrom and Fistric were on Black. They played with Ott, Crosby, Neal, Kunitz, Purcell, Pardy and Weber. Whitney was on white with Souray, Cleary, Clowe and some others. I thought Daley looked really good. Both teams wore jerseys with the NHLPA logo on the front (with the letters P and A bolded), they did not have any numbers or names on the back, instead on the bottom end was "#theplayers."
The Stars Center had the rink locked up, but you could watch them play from the up stairs viewing area. There were maybe 50 people watching. I met and talked with Ott and Daley in the parking lot (super cool guys). They signed a Stars shirt I randomly had in my car. I didn't care about getting Crosby to sign anything, so I don't know if any of those guys stuck around for the fans.
THEY WILL NOT BE THERE TOMORROW. Apparently all of them have a group tee time at a local course. Ott said they will all be there Thrusday and Friday. I had a good time. It was nice seeing hockey again. Also, Crosby looks to be 100%.
"They have made it clear to us that they have very little interest in the proposal we made last Tuesday," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said in an email Tuesday night to ESPN.com. "They also told us they have no intention of making a new proposal. I'm not sure what we would be meeting about."
With that kind of pigheaded attitude, I'm not sure how anyone can be optimistic about there being any NHL hockey this season.
What a complete joke.
