Its going to be a interesting with so many up and coming dmen who can make it,

Id say forsures

Weber - Doughty
Keith - Green (if hes healthy, not having him last time nearly cost us))
Letang - ?
X -?

And then its a dogfight for the remaining 2 spots

seabrook
Subban
M. Staal
Carlson
Alzner
Fowler
Klein
R. murray
Hamhuis
Giordano
Bouwmeester
phaneuf

Green won't be on the team. Even if he is healthy.

Weber - Doughty
Pietrangelo - Letang
Keith - Seabrook

I think Seabrook has the best chance of anyone you listed.

Weber-Doughty
Letang-Pietrangelo
Keith-Seabrook

is probably a lock for the top-six based on established skill and international/post-season experience

Toss up for 7th between Myers/Subban/Phaneuf/Hamhuis/Burns/Alzner/Campbell/Gorges/Girardi/Hamonic. Probably depends on who's having the best season in 2014

Ok i guess Alex is CDN, that would be one lethal and very mobile defense.

Lacks some sandpaper though, where i can see Hamhuis as their #7

I don't know if Seabrook is a lock.. He was pretty bad in 2010. I expect Subban, Myers and maybe a few others to challenge him for it.

The top 4 is a lock though, in my books.

seabrook might even make it over Keith as he was the hawks best dman last year and Keith has fallen a bit since his Norris year.

Seabrook mostly made it in 2010 cause of his chemistry but a lot of Hawks fans say hes the Hawks #1 dman right now.

agreed except i added green. if green gets back to him old self it would be foolish not to use him on the big ice

In a short tournament like the Olympics an established pair like Keith & Seabrook is valuable. Simply the way they work together rather then adjusting to a new linemate. You want that on @ least 1 pairing.
Weber & Doughty are probably givens somewhere in the pairings but the rest will have to play themselves onto the team.

Phaneuf?

Fowler?

Klein?

Carlson?

How can someone who posts so much about hockey be so ignorant of everything related to it?

Weber - Doughty (Played together last olympics, and currently Canada's two best D, no brainer first pair)
Keith - Seabrook (Played together last olympics, have chemistry)

4/7 D-men from last run return.

Then bring in Pieterangelo/Letang/M. Staal

Distant, but the next best thing, Myers/Subban/Green

Weber Doughty
Pietrangelo Letang
Keith Seabrook
Staal

Other guys in the running for the last few spots: Hamhuis, Del Zotto, Burns, Bouwmeester, Phaneuf, Alzner, Myers, Subban, Hamonic, Green, Girardi.

The FWD lines are much more interesting...

Stamkos - Crosby - Nash
Benn - Giroux - Eberle
E. Staal - Getzlaf - Perry
Richards - Toews - J. Staal (unreal shutdown line)

Tavares could fit somewhere in there.
Bergeron or Neal maybe as well.

Maybe ready in time
Hopkins, Hall, Seguin

Maybe won't be too old
Iginla

I doubt Getzlaf makes it.

What do you think perhaps Kesler or Parise instead.

I think Doughty, Pietrangelo, Weber and Keith are locks. Then there will be some competition for the last few spots. Trying to project ahead a bit, I'd go with Burns, Seabrook and Letang, but a lot can change. Myers and Subban should be right up there as well.

Even though Duncan Kieth had a good Worlds this spring, im still not sold on his play this year, and thinks its a sign he will be getting worse. From my viewings of Chicago this year I liked Seabrook a lot more, and was impressed by how much better he has become with the puck.

My locks:
Doughty
Weber
Letang
Pietrangelo

That leaves 3 spots for:
Hamhuis
Seabrook
Kieth
Subban
Myers
Staal
Bouwmeester
Phaneuf

I think PK has a good chance... I really think Dion Phanuef is not being looked at by the fans too much. He was really liked in 2010 and if it wasnt for legends like Pronger and Nieds then you would have had Phanuef.

Phanuef is use to Olympic ice size, he has a gold in 2007 and yzerman and babcock are high on his performance.
