Will the press conference be streamed or watchable online?

Congrats guys. Great to see the Isles staying in the area and good to see hockey coming to Brooklyn. I'm heading to Barclays on the 3rd to see the Nets and can't wait to check out the arena. From people that have gone, I've heard it's beautiful. This should reignite the rivalry too. Can't wait until the move happens.

Per TSN

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=408031

The New York Islanders are set to announce that they will be moving to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York when their lease expires at Nassau Coliseum after the 2014-15 season.

Can they move sooner, please?

Excited for this new start for the franchise. I actually wouldn't mind if the team adopted that slate blue color of the nets. Might look sharp with the orange.

Sorry, I do branding.

If it's after the lease expires, then the Isles and NHL have plenty of time to hype the move.

Wang gets an automatic increase in franchise value plus increased attendance. The NHL gets a freebie while moving a burb team into the NYC - bring on legit sponsors, higher ticket prices, etc.

Big win, win.

I think that's going to be a common sentiment for most of us. We've suffered for so long with all of this.

I wish they would have announced the press conference earlier. I'm ready to hop in my car and drive the 3 hours (I'll be speeding like a mofo) to see it.

Haha, that's my only gripe about this.

not sure if anyone mentioned this or not but Barclays center is right next to Atlantic Terminal. So it is a very easy train ride!!

For fans who have suffered along with this franchise for so long, this is the most welcome news possible. If there is any truth to the Ratner kick-in rumor related to trying to buy out of the current lease, I won't have to renew my Viagra bottle for quite a while!

So, since we're going to be in Brooklyn, in a brand new arena, does this mean that we'll ACTUALLY ATTRACT FREE AGENTS?

Or, when they still dont come, are we officially a bad team?

I'm so pumped for this news. I never thought we would move out of the metro area, but it's comforting to know that we'll be in a brand new home

BREAKING #Islanders moving to Barclays Arena in Brooklyn http://nyp.st/SsHiM5

Developer Bruce Ratner has scored a major goal by landing the Islanders ice hockey team for his Barclays arena in downtown Brooklyn, sources said.

Ratner had said earlier that he was "trying like hell" to lure the Islanders to Brooklyn from Long Island

This. If Ratner is buying a piece this couldn't have worked out any better. We get a new arena and a real budget. I can't concentrate on doing any work right now...

Dear Mr Wang,

Thanks for taking the team out from the darkness of a crumbling suburbia.

can we start taking pieces of the coliseum now?

Would wonder if Kate Murray is going to replace the building only, now that Wang and his requirements are gone...

Just a bit of musical accompaniment to happily dance in your rooms to. We did it. We're not moving to Kansas City.
