Going to take a gamble and pay for the horrible AHL Live service to watch the game @ STJ tonight. Hopefully the stream out of St. John's isn't too terrible...

wouldn't waste my time, imho..... AHL Live should've been folded and Neulion should declare BANKRUPTCY, or stick to WBS GAMES..... remember game actually begins the next two nights @ 6 pm, which mean pregame is in less than a hr Eastern....

And now 6-6 early in the third. So much for that awesome defense.

Edit: 7-6. Klinkhammer with a hat trick and two assists.

Caps fan coming in peace.

Your D wasn't as bad as ours, Johnson kept getting beat IMO. Everytime I saw Klinkhammer with the puck in the third I about threw up!!

We have lots of rookies; especially up front.

Interesting to see OEL was still a +4. Goncharov was a -4.

I think it's time to play Visentin more.

Gonch and Gormely the only defenders in the minus. Pretty sure they were paired together.

This is what is happening, league wide. High scoring games. Teams get an influx of talent on forward and D but hardly any bump in goaltending depth. The talent of the league has risen in all position but in goal.

Pirates can’t close on The Rock
By Chris Roy Published: 23rd October 2012

Quote:
The lead has become a four-letter dirty word for the Portland Pirates in the early point of the season.

The Pirates held a lead five times, but couldn’t hold onto it when it counted most as Alex Burmistrov scored in overtime, capping off a wild game to give the St. John’s IceCaps an 8-7 victory before 6,287 at Mile One Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

OEL is very likely the best player on his NHL team, a POSSIBLY the best player in the AHL.

Best news from last night in my eyes us that despite giving up seven goals, David Rundblad was a plus one. What kind of minutes did he play?

And what of Rundblad? For me, he's THE storyline of our prospect development in Portland.

I only watched with one eye so I didn't really catch how much he played or defensive stuff where you'd have to pay more attention to analyze him. He had one spectacular offensive rush where he dangled three guys like they were kids and got a good shot off. Of course we already know he can do that so it's not that interesting.

He was paired with Gormley, correct? What's his problems ? - he should be fairly polished by now since it's his third AHL year and he's playing third pair minutes.

Wasn't Brodeur decent last season? He probably should have played tonight over Goncharov.
