Well I found This a rather nice distraction from the CBA crap. My favorite line: "47 flavors of goal celebrations"

I saw Anismov tonight at Lindey's... he is very tall but tiny... I'm 6'2" 190 and I would say I'm easily 15 pounds heavier. He looked small.

Porty reporting John Davidson just left the Blues organization. Maybe he's finally coming here?

Interesting, but I'm not holding my breath. It's "good" news in the sense that it leaves St. Louis less well off at a minimum. If he does happen to come here and we get confirmation of same, then we'll have ourselves a party.

Puckrakers will have their first online chat in quite some time, today at noon. Imagine the lockout, Falcons and Juniors, and Davidson might be among the topics.

I read in SI today that Drew Carey is floating the idea of "democracy in sports" with his Seattle Sounders, namely a plan for STHs and any fans that wanted to pay $125/season to join a fan council that could, among other things, vote out the GM at the end of a season.

If only we could have that here...

Great! I look forward to their subsequent inevitable demise.

Yes, I'm still bitter about Sigi's abrupt departure and their opening record against us. Grar.

Interesting. I could see this becoming a reason for people with nothing better to do to really get involved. You know, the same as with the normal elections.

On a more serious note: I like the idea, I think it could work. The Sounders are as talked about around here as the Mariners - which isn't much. Anything to boost their rep has to be a good thing.

That's just what we need: busybodies with money drowning out the people without.

Let's ask NCAA teams who have to deal with boosters exactly what that's like.

Has anyone been able to access the transcript of yesterday's chat (assuming it took place, of course)?

Edit: never mind, it's scheduled for today. Sorry.

Final edit: Here's the link:

Some interesting comments. Take them as you will.

Scott Torgerson (The Torg) has been suspended from The Fan for sending out a Tweet wishing Desmond Howard would "get fired or die" so he could watch ESPN again.

Doesn't really pertain directly to the Jackets but, for fans, there goes about the only voice I've heard on The Fan that actually talks hockey with some knowledge of the sport and without being condescending.

His, in my opinion, limited investment in local hockey certainly doesn't make up for his complete lack of respect and perspective toward Howard (again, in my opinion). Remember, too, that Herbstreit may be especially sensitive to this issue, since fans of his own alma mater were so harsh toward him that he was driven to move his family from Columbus.

What the hell is in the water down there?

Ohio State really is a religion to some down in Columbus, isn't it? Having never lived anywhere close to Columbus or go to Ohio State, I wouldn't know first hand but...man.

Well, good to hear Herbie put a verbal smackdown on him. Torg deserved it.

Hopefully, for his sake, they give him another chance and he learns from his mistake. I like that he talks hockey, not impressed with his knowledge of the game. But he certainly talks about it and you are right, he doesn't look down on the game or its fans.

Deadspin took notice, and thereby so have the main boards:

Should we start submitting this every time those trolls in BoH insist that nobody here cares about hockey?

You know you're board when you get excited after spotting a CBJ shirt you own in a 5 year old segment of "How It's Made".

3:20 mark

I'm not trying to be harsh, but I thought "Hey, I'd love to know how pads are made - I'll watch the whole video" ... and then fell asleep

The Torg just went from suspended to canned. That kind of sucks he was the only one on local sports radio that even bothered to talk Hockey. I guess I'll be tuning out.
