WC 2017 in Latvia/Denmark?

According to Kirovs Lipmans (Interview to Baltic Times) Latvia and Denmark had joined in a bid for the hockey WC 2017 in competition with France and Germany.
Apparently it will first be settled between Latvia and Denmark who will get the semifinals and finals if they get the WC. Lipmans think Latvia/Denmark has 70% chance (interesting what inside information he bases this on?)

It could probably go on record be the longest distance between two countries of a joint sport event since they almost always share a border.

The danish reply: Denmark wants the semifinals and finals or Latvia will have to apply alone. If the Latvians don't accept Denmark will apply instead for the WC 2015 alone. According to the DIU chairman Henrik Bach Nielsen France/Germany is a powerful competitor, and is apparently not so optimistic to Lipmans 70%
So it seems the internal battle for 2017 is on before IIHF has decided. The decision will be made at the WC in Stockholm 2013.

Sorry my mistake. Its offcourse that Denmark will apply for the 2017 alone (not the 2015) if Latvia don't agree.

I honesty don't care about the semi-finals and finals. Let's be honest, seems like nobody will build a second arena and even if we did what is the chance for us to win, since we already hosted WC in 2006 (less than 10 years ago) when other smaller hockey countries would also want to host it and IIHF will, of course, be happy to put the WC there to continue popularizing hockey.

Just give us a group with Russians and Finns to bring in revenues from fans and take down the roof of Arena Riga and I'm in.

It seems that the danish demand of getting the final rounds if Denmark/Latvia should make a joint bid for the 2017 WC was accepted by the latvians. It is now offical:
