That's nice, but getting a TV deal would be awesome. Would really ruffle Bettman's feathers and might push them a bit to get a deal done. Those cocky ****** hate the idea of a European league getting air time while they act like bullies trying to get more money out of the players. It would knock them down a peg or two. The NHL is not the be all and end all when it comes to hockey thats for damn sure.

Benched Tuesday, Nail Yakupov could not have made more of an impact in the Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk lineup Wednesday, as he faced netminder Sergei Bobrovsky of SKA St. Petersburg.

Not only did Yakupov score both of Neftekhimik’s goals to knot the game at two after regulation, the Edmonton Oilers draft pick went three-for-four in an insane shootout that needed 30 shots to decide a winner. Yakupov’s third shootout marker proved to be the game-winner. What’s Russian for “wow”?
I didn't know the rest of the story.

Capitals pick Kuznetsov age 20, with 14 points in 13 KHL games so far this season.

Wasn't there talk about Washington being interested in Kadri?

Yeah, but why would Washington trade their budding Russian star? Plus if we trade for him, he may not even come over.

The Flames seem pretty high on Baertshci. Nice pick by the Flames. Feaster is restocking their cupboards. Have to wonder if Iginla is going to be their Sundin. I think Iginla might have a little more left in the tank though.

"Those types of goals, you kind of just go, 'wow,' all of us do," said Heat head coach Troy Ward. "It's the gift of the American Hockey League right now. You pay however much you paid to come to this game and say 'can I see NHL-type goals?' Well, that's an NHL-type goal from an NHL-type player.

"It's a real pleasure to have that type of talent here in the American League."

The Swiss left-winger now has four points in the first two games of the AHL season, following Abbotsford's 4-1 victory Friday.

To put it simply, he’s out of his league.

“He’s at a different level,” said coach Jeff Daniels when asked to assess Faulk’s first two games of the season. “He was very good in both games, both offensively and defensively.”
Skinner and now Faulk.

Sounds like the 'Canes know how to draft.

I am watching the heat and wolves game. Kassion has been a beast, offensively and pest wise. he's been just a huge thorn on the side and an absolute pain in the ass to play against.

Should mention Lack has been a treat to watch and same with Sven.

Schroeder for the wolves could be a lot better than what he is advertising. This guy was at one point a sure fire top 15 pick but fell due to the size.

Sven Baertschi reminds me of Kadri, except he seems to be a split second quicker with his playmaking.

If you want to keep track of daily games/highlights from the KHL, make sure you check out this youtube feed regularly. They've introduced a highlight section with english which makes it much easier to listen/watch.

So the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn. It's such a nice arena. Good idea too. Not sure if it'll save them though.

really doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if players request moves too.

Great arena... for basketball. Not good at all for hockey, and the smallest in the NHL (smaller even than Winnipeg). The Isles have such crap infrastructure overall, team and practice facilities are garbage, it's really an embarrassment even leaving aside the arena proper.

Chris Bottarga told Hockey Central this move may be temporary, hoping it shocks Nassau County to finally support and expedite the building of a replacement for the Coliseum... Which would explain why the announcement is being made this far in advance of the 2015/16 season.

Will it work? No idea... but I kind of doubt it.

Article NYI moving to Brooklyn

confirmed with link:

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=644164

how does this affect leaf fans? Brooklyn is an amazing place to visit. So many different/entertaining neighborhoods in that area, and I for one am going to enjoy seeing the Leafs away. I'm definitely going to take in some sights at the same time.

a great way to see the Leafs is in Boston (for a vacation experience), but seeing them in Brooklyn is going to be even more amazing.

2015! i can't wait!

Boston is terrible in my opinion. Nothing to see or do besides sports and the aquarium.

Islanders moving to Brooklyn for 2015-2016 season

As per this article:

http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/...rles-wang.html

Still a long time from now but interesting. There seriously needs to be more Canadian teams though.

But what does this have to do with TO or any possible relocated teams?
Have I missed something?

I guess this is in the wrong board. I thought it was interesting so I brought it up. If the moderators want to move or delete this thread, go ahead.

Anyone else hope we get NYI in Hamilton/Markham, and then PHX goes to Quebec?

They're moving to Brooklyn in 2015. Not coming to Hamilton/Markham.
