Just to preface, I understand how the rights work between CHL/NCAA/European Elite leagues work with the NHL. But how is it that we still have Julian Walker's rights?

We probably don't. I just took all the names off the Wild.com list.

I think Huberdeau is really good...just a touch overrated though.

Hearing that a certain Minnesota Wild prospect is actively being shopped and could be on the move soon.

Dumb a being traded to a decent team in the W?

Don't think you can do trades in NHL during lockout

He means Red Deer might trade him to another WHL team. At least that's how I interpreted RS's post.

For a useless fodder talking point; if NHL teams really do view Dumba as highly as HF does (19th Prospect in the game), I'd consider trading him too...

(hint: I don't think all that much of him)

i don't think he's nearly as good as Brodin will end up being, but I can see some wicked potential. especially if he is paired with a guy like Brodin or Suter.

I think he has very high ceiling too. But watching that kid play and seeing what he does on the ice makes me very seriously question whether or not he will ever come anywhere near that type of projection.

I'm just hoping he ends up being a solid roster player because to me he strikes me as a player who has the highest, complete flame out, type of potential of most any notable prospect. Especially considering you're pegging a player at that sort of level amongst his peers. Maybe that's just me though...

For me it depends on his intelligence. If he's a bright kid who can adapt and learn, definitely keep him. If he's just got this ridiculous physical skillset without any way of putting it together, he probably shouldn't have been drafted that high.

He JUST turned 18...probably 2-3 years away from even knowing what we have in the kid, let alone gauging his trade value.

Red Deer's not that bad, 4th in their conference, 0.500, 8 teams below their win%.

I certainly am in no position to speculate, but I will anyway. The Oil Kings might be a good fit. With Lazar, Samuelsson, and Reinhart in place, adding a fourth 1st rounder (yes, I'm counting Lazar as a first already) could put them over the top. Furthermore, all four of those players would presumably return for next year as well. Unless they make the NHL jump, they're all ineligible for AHL play next year unless the rules change.

I'd like to see him with the Blades because I'd be able to watch him at the Memorial Cup.

Are you hearing this as a scout or broadcaster?

Glancing through their roster, Dumba's the only one whom NHL teams decided was worthy of a draft pick despite the fact that all but 8 of them have been eligible for at least one draft. They're not a particularly good team, and don't seem to have much promise for next year either. Dumba could probably net a huge return as well since he's a '94 and not exactly a huge threat to make an NHL roster next season.
