Supply stays the same, Demand goes up. Ticket Prices go up. Once they make enough profit, they can potentially help finance an expansion to add seats to the arena.

Can't see that going over well with the season ticket holders that will support the team through their lottery years.

The Views from upstairs in Nassau blow. The roof actually hangs down so much that they have tvs so that fans up there can watch when they can't see that part of the rink.

Looks like the plan is to boost it up:

As of now, Barclays Center would only hold 14,500 for hockey, but Bettman says plans are in place to increase the attendance to "15,000-plus." At 15,004, Winnipeg's MTS Centre currently has the NHL's smallest capacity. Nassau Coliseum only seats 16,234, making it the second-smallest venue in terms of capacity.

"A thousand seats ... I don't think it makes a material difference," Bettman said. "It's not an issue."
I'm not sure if I agree that $1.5m (at $35 per for 41 games) isn't a material difference.

We all know by now how arbitrary league rules can be.

I definitely think they're having a low profile meeting today or tomorrow that the public doesn't know about. Bettman's comments today about ''Not negotiating publicly'' make me think it's a possibility. Though that doesn't mean a deal gets done.

MSG Network will carry KHL games starting Friday. That's the problem when you lose games of 3 NHL teams and have to satisfy distributers.

LOL at Eklund!

If a deal does not get done by Thursday Eklund is a fraud. Dude has been wrong so many times since this lockout. Still trying to figure out who sucks more. Him or Mr Anonymous hockey insider.

How come none of the teams have asked to have AHL games?

MSG could ask to stream maybe 2 or 3 AHL games from Albany, the Whale, and the Islanders affiliate. I'm sure there is Devils/Rangers/Islanders fans that will tune into that.

People leave out the fact that Barclays Center has a TON of luxury boxes at over 100 in the arena. That with the arena being at 15,000-15,500 with higher ticket prices when demand goes up should make it more than suitable for the Isles money wise.

Also, the seating chart on the last page was for the exhibition game that was supposed to be at the beginning of the month. I imagine for when they move the rink will be centered after they fix the arena.

And the sight lines at Nassau are awesome. It sucks when you get to the last couple of rows but the lower half of the 300's have a great view for an "upper deck."

Probably too hard to sell advertising space for an undisclosed period of time.

I gave the KHL a chance. It sucks. I'm not watching an inferior product. It's NHL or bust, pretty much, for me.

I'm just going to watch the Nets and wait for the lockout to end.

Being a devil fan in new york is always entertaining... heres the latest dumb statement by an Isles fan this time. "Zubrus is a below average player in the NHL"

They also don't move in until 2015-2016.

By then, they will likely increase the seating by at least 500, probably around 100k.

Eh, more like the first 5 rows. Its remarkably a tremendous difference from the first 5 to the 8th row and up, then the ceiling suddenly shows up lol.

Pretty nuts that there will be three NHL teams within a 2-seat subway ride of each other. Have three major league teams of any single sport ever been this close? Not since NY had the Yankees, Giants, and Dodgers, I'd suppose.

Im glad the Islanders are moving to a better arena.

We can develop a true rivalry with them now which makes me ready for when the NHL returns in 2015.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum as a hockey fan. The game is the game whether it be at the junior level or overseas. Hockey first, NHL 2nd.
