I own a blank current red. I have a hard time justifying the cost of jerseys to myself, especially since I don't get to go to many games. If money were no object, I'd probably get an Alfie or Karlsson heritage though.
Side note: I will never understand the popularity of the SNES jersey.
You can get the old home away and alternate for ~$40 each if you're patient.
I heartily endorse this post.
Heck, if you're patient enough, and get lucky, I've bought old PRO jerseys for under $40. I have a black 1993- Gretzky-era LA Kings jersey, pro, that I got for about $25. Right place, right time.
Just be aware of what you are buying, and remember that any Reebok-era jersey with a price too good to be true might be counterfeit. As long as you know the signs of a counterfeit, eBay is your jersey-selling friend.
Does anyone know of any stores that sell old jerseys?
I always wanted to open an apparel shop that sold used jerseys.
It would be cool: I could have a program where if you traded in your old jersey (provided it was in decent-enough condition), you could get credit towards a new one. Then, I could have a rack of used jerseys at the back of the store for sale, to recoup my costs on the credit I gave towards newer jerseys (while at the same time, posting them on eBay as Buy-It-Now's).
