Eddy Lack is a great option, too, but I highly highly doubt VAN will give him up and I don't think the Rangers/Whale will get rid of other valuable pieces. Hense, my point again on signing a college goalie!!!
Or trading for Cannata. I watched him up close. He isn't too bad, has some talent. He also stays in great shape considering I used to workout next to him here and there in the athletes gym.

Im quite confident both Lindberg & Fasth will be in the national team for Karjala Cup in november.
What is the coach thinking? Lindberg is tied in 3rd in goals and points in the SEL, but his coach throws him on the 3rd line for games at a time? What could possibly be his logic in putting a player who is racking up tons of points on a 3rd line giving him less ice time?

Lindberg is now 8-9-17 in 16 games as a 20 year old in the SEL. Wow.

So, when i mentioned several days ago that Skjei didn't play in the third period of Saturday's game against Michigan Tech, and speculated injury as a cause, it looks as though he is in fact injured.

I skipped last Saturday's game, but in the first 3 games Skjei had a regular rotation on the "3rd pair" with Nate Schmidt who is one of the leaders on the Gophers' D and was on many preseason lists for Hobey candidates. Schmidt is an offensive guy who jumps into the play a ton so I thought it said a lot that Coach Lucia was willing to have Skjei anchor him. The 3 pairs rotated regularly and Skjei also played PP and PK.

Again, I did not see Saturday's game but I thought Skjei was in an excellent situation overall. He did look much better in his own zone at home vs. Michigan State, which to me could be attributed to the Olympic ice (skating can cover mistakes, also has more space to keep players in front of him). Hopefully his injury is not serious.

I can tell you that his skating isn't making up for mistakes. And what i mean by that is, he doesn't make many mistakes.

I think he will earn his coach's trust sooner rather then later.

He didn't play as regularly on Saturday, Friday he played a fair amount, and last week as well.

I think Lucia REALLY wanted that #600 win and rode his known horses the whole game (though he did play his freshman goaltender).

His positioning is very good, hes intelligent, you can see he thinks the game faster than most of the forwards he's defending. He puts his body in position and plays happen for him as a result. He's also very smart with the puck, quick simple plays, and he absorbs hits to make plays. Which is how he got injured i suspect, he took a big hit in the second on Saturday to move the puck up ice.

I don't think the injury is serious, based on the report.

Don't really know too much about him except that he is with VAN. Since I guess you know him from school, what's so good about him?

St. Croix 1+1 at the end of 2 periods. Both points on the PP. Seems to me that he is a killer at the PP so far, but not producing so much at ES. I guess with his -6 that is not really ground breaking info

According to his WHL-page 7 of 9 goals so far has come with the man advantage - this includes all 6 of his tallies in October. He has yet to be a "plus" in any game so far this month. He is even today, though, so the three goals against (Oli Kings down 2-3 after the second) has all come with him not on the ice.

St. Croix has 9 goals and 20 points through the first 14 games... Nice start for him offensively.

@WHLFacts: 100 - Congrats to @EdmOilKings Michael St. Croix (@stixy18), who has just scored his 100th career WHL goal (reg season).

Again, we know St. Croix can score. Can he play away from the puck? Can he play defense? He's gonna have to do those things to succeed in professional hockey.

If you combined McColgan and St. Croix into one player, you'd have a nice prospect.

Derek Stepan got off to a slow start in his freshman year. Stepan had a very good second half. He was terrific in his sophomore year.

No video of the Notre Dame game. They are not like Minnesota which has the highlight available 5 minutes after the play.
