Scary good. Let's see if he can keep it up. Small sample sizes and all.

Reilly is very good. I honestly think he could be the best player out of the 2012 draft. I said so a few times at the end of last season as well. He is a mix of Duncan Keith/Kris Letang and will be a #1 dman in the future, mark my words. And yes I have seen him play live, multiple times, for those who may ask.

Seeing him on Friday I believe, will have something to say about him and Brown both hopefully.

Not really Rielly related but I had Brown and Chandler Stephenson as my mid-round Dub sleepers last draft. Really like a Mike Green comparison still for Rielly. He has this really dynamic quality when the puck is on his stick, it's hard to explain. He can twist and turn his ways out of those defensive situations when pressure comes like Duncan Keith does though too. Maybe it's just the way he tucks his jersey in that reminds me of Green haha. The way he skates the puck out of the zone reminds me of Karlsson too. All I know is this guy is a great prospect and player. He seems to use an insanely long stick for his height and he grips it really far down too when he's stickhandling.

Agreed, but honestly the last 3 games I have watched, he has looked very solid defensively. He did an excellent job against McNeill against the Raiders, battled very hard in the corners, and wasn't at all timid from Raiders top line. He also played very well and safe against Tri-city despite the fact that Moose Jaw lost 5-0, Rielly was one of the few players who finished with an even +/- rating.

My take on yesterday's game is that he played good in 1st, shaky in the 2nd, and finished the game with an outstanding 3rd period. He also saved a goal yesterday right before the Everett scored their 1st goal.

Although, Rielly played great, I have to admit that Murray was a little impressive of the two.

Seen one regular season game, highlights and the Canada-Russia series and it looks very steady. He's not going to be a shutdown guy in the NHL or anything, but has a solid defensive game that will continue to improve with time. His offensive game and vision are unreal, but he has a lot of two-way ability and the skating to get back into position if he gets caught defensively.

You sure about that? Considering he's third in WHL D scoring.

Myles Bell has been playing forward recently, but you're right, Rielly is now a pt back from Pulock.

I really believe Morgan Rielly has the right combination of drive, size, and skill to be a star in the NHL.

Am I ever happy the Leafs picked him. They now have two young d-men that they can build around: Morgan Rielly and Jake Gardiner.

Wow this kid is looking good. He looked good on Friday too when I went and watched him, doesn't have much of a team around him but his skills are very apparent, was the best defender on the ice for both teams easily. His skating is so fluid and smooth it's just unbelievable to watch, head is always up too - didn't exactly dominate the game because he was being sent out there so damn much in every situation. It's pretty clear he's the one driving the bus on the team, Oil Kings just overmatched the Warriors in every aspect pretty much though it was going to be hard for him to take the game over when the Kings were pouring it on shift after shift.

It's definitely the area he needs to work on the most, but that's not exactly a revelation considering how good he is offensively. Not really fair to compare the two.

Some blogs I wrote about him last season:

Yea, but you could legitimately say that about 5-10 players. Rielly's looking good, but so are Yakupov, Grigorenko, Murray, Subban, Galchenyuk, etc right now.

When there's a highlight reel goal, there's usually very bad defense along with it.

If it wasn't bad defense, then there's probably no goal.
