Is there a "random" function in PowerAmp?

Thanks for the mention of Poweramp. I looked it up and it seems, from the list of features, that it optionally supports music browsing by folders, which is huge for me, since I don't like all music being consolidated into a single mess of a library (especially messy when your tags are incomplete or not quite right).

4G/LTE: $459 (16GB), $559 (32GB), $659 (64GB).

A $130 premium over the N7 for 16GB and a $180 one for 32GB.
Yeah, the iPad Mini's pricing further justifies not lowering the Nexus 7's pricing at all. If the iPad Mini were closer in price, you might see Google undercut themselves, even at a loss, to keep it more attractive, but Apple's pricing is high enough that that isn't necessary.

I've tried a lot of apps on a 10" Android tablet and the only ones that didn't look quite right were a few cheap rush-job apps, like for the local newspaper and airport. Even then, it was mostly just the cover screen that looked bad, because it wasn't designed to be stretched like that. Nearly all of the actual content in the apps scales without stretching.

So, I, too, don't really know what people are talking about when they claim that there are few tablet apps on Android. I think that what they're probably doing is thinking of it like the Apple ecosystem, where apps have had to have separate iPad versions (as I understand it). You don't have many tablet-only Android versions of apps because the regular apps are easily tweaked to support and look good on both phones and tablets.

Yes. You can "shuffle" anything, from a folder to an album to your whole collection.

If anyone is looking for a free Sense-like clock + weather widget, I've found a nice one called Weatherlove, written by someone over at XDA. I'm picky about my clock and weather widgets and this is one of the few that I've liked.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ns.weatherlove

One thing that's really nice is that you can adjust the transparency of both the widget background and the clock portion independently. I like having the widget background 100% transparent (i.e. invisible) and the clock portion at 90% (just barely visible), so that the widget doesn't stand out too much from the wallpaper. There are also some other sizes for the widget, like 4x1 and a couple of weather-only ones that are 2x1 and 1x1.

Really enjoying Holo Launcher HD (Jelly Bean code)

Yeah I know Apex and Nova are more popular, but for some reason I prefer Holo.

It might the fact that it allows me to use the home button to launch the regular bottom screen Android menu.
As the non-rooted HTC Ones dont allow that, for some reason - but the next Sense update will fix that.

Oh Im also enjoying Holo Locker (Nexus locker)

Holo Locker is awesome. I've been using it for some time. It's even better with the notifier add-on.

I've yet to get with the times. I've been using ADW.EX launcher for years now. It does everything I need and I'm used to it. I've never had any reason to try something different.

A really what-the-fudge review for the Galaxy Note 2. Nice to see a lot of gripes about problems instead of the usual glossing-over that most sites give new phones.

yeah, swiftkey flow might actually make me switch from swype as well.

I thought swype had patents to prevent competition here though.

really excited for nexus 10. Depending on price level, could be a real ipad competitor.

I'm getting a new phone next week and I wanted help deciding on which to get. It's between the Samsung Galaxy SIII and the LG Optimus 4X HD. The carrier I want to go with (WIND) has both of these, but there's a bit of a price difference ($299 upfront for the SIII vs. $199 upfront for the Optimus). Specs-wise, they look pretty similar...but admittedly, I have little experience with smartphones, so maybe I missed something.

What do you suggest and does anyone have any personal experience with these?

Galaxy S III without a doubt.
LG's support of their phones is shady at best.

ADW.EX really isn't missing any features from Nova, or at least that I've noticed. I only switched from ADW to Nova because the One X doesn't have the submenu button and ADW puts it at the bottom of the screen. It's amazing ADW hasn't been updated in so long that the dev seems to have abandoned it entirely, yet it's still probably the most popular launcher out there.

Isn't he 6'9"? In his hands that thing probably looks like a normal person holding an iphone 4.

Interesting that the new LG Nexus will have wireless charging. Very interesting.

With that said, it is stupid that that phone only comes in 8gb or 16gb flavors.

And now I am deciding whether or not I want to jettison the iPhone 5 for a Note II.

100% agree. BUT, 8GB only means one thing and one thing only. They are aiming for a floor buster price.

I'd predict something like $350, maybe even $300 no contract for the 8GB version.

Note II? Really? But I thought you wanted build quality...
That's Samsung Achilles heel IMO.

How about between the SIII ($299) and the Nexus ($0)?
I think the camera is worse on the Nexus and no expandable memory, but it's supposed to get faster updates, right? Worth the price difference?
