Another day, another game decided by the refs (the 2-1 goal was scored right after a clear tripping call).

Well, Jokerit probably deserved it anyway.

^^ Better team won in the end and like Pulkkinen said...in the longer run the callings most likely goes even. I understand that people gets pissed off about situations like that... I've seen refs stealing a game from Jokerit this season too... but hey it's SM-Liiga refs we're talking about here.

Pelicans - Kärpät. Nasty hit by Pikkarainen on Mäntymää who was carried out the ice unconscious. Legs and hands motionless. Looked awful and I hope he recovers.

SM-Liiga

Bring back the goons/enforcers!!! + every god damn ice hall/arena should have safety plexiglass/rink.

TPS - Ilves 1-4 after two periods.

Seems like TPS needs some reinforcements.

Yep, average SM-liiga players are clearly better than NHL players.

I made a lineup out of NHL players who have came to Finland during the lockout. This lineup includes even the players who have already left.

Valtteri Filppula - Mikko Koivu - Jussi Jokinen
Rich Peverley - Frans Nielsen - Craig Smith
Lauri Korpikoski -Kyle Turris - Mikkel Bødker
Jesse Joensuu - Lennart Petrell - Eric Fehr
Cory Emmerton/Patrick O'Sullivan

Erik Karlsson - Alec Martinez
Kris Russell - Stephane Robidas
Jason Demers - Kurtis Foster
Philip Larsen

Antti Niemi

I'm not an expert when it comes to some of these players, especially offense was hard to do. This team could use an elite goal scorer, backup goalie (or a better starter than Niemi) and some defensive defenders. There's been rumors about players that might come to Finland like Hartnell, Selänne, Rinne, Stamkos, van riemsdyk, Timonen... This team could get very good with these guys.

Did I forget some lockout signing? Any ideas how to arrenge this lineup to be better?

Jesse Joensuu injured his shoulder in the Finland-Sweden game in the Karjala Cup. Every game missed is too much for Ässät.

Edit. Will play today vs. Jokerit.

Max Talbot just scored his first goal in SM-liiga. It's 4-2 to Kärpät now with 12 minutes to go.

Kärpät won 5-3.

At the top of the league, finally. It's been too long.

You've got to be one crazy ******* to have that as your trademark move. Great goal.

SaiPa's Stefano Giliati also made a nice shootout goal in that same game, couldn't find a video from YouTube though...

JYP's 3-3 goal was a high stick...but gets allowed.

Ville Nieminen gets crosschecked in the neck... referee looks situation from 2 meters away and no call... Nemo goes mad and gets ejected.

Ville yelling at the ref(s): "You have personality of a squirrel goddamnit!" "You owe us points"

And as soon as we start to get things together and win three games in a row, Jesse Joensuu hurts his arm and is away for two months and Armia with the post-concussion syndrome.

Three of the team's top-4 wingers out so hopefully they could get at least one proper winger as soon as possible.

700 games played by Kuhta

I mean even with the lack of quality wingers that match was a season low for Ässät. With a decent goaltender Pelicans would had taken the game easily.

Well good to see that Sami Lähteenmäki is playing with a lot of confidence. Four goals in his last five games after going 62 games without a goal in his SM-liiga career.

So after about 40% (from 25 to 23) of the regular season games have been played SaiPa leads the league and HPK is second.

Didn't see this coming.
