Was the Vancouver Canucks "wussiness" great over exaggerated?

Bieksa picks spots more than anyone then talks tough after games.

Agreed, lots of fighters pick their spots, a lot of it is simply what's happening in the context of the game. What Bieksa and others like him do which only strengthens dislike for him, is he is typically willing to go with a player who's at the tail end of a shift, and the all talk no action crud is embarrassing too

I used to like him as a player too before that series, didn't see too many Vancouver games before it. For all the talk of how tough he is he doesn't do much but yap post whistle while using the ref as a shield.

I don't know if it would have made a difference anyways since Boston's PK was phenomenal in that series.
That's made me curious, so I checked out the series stats:

Minor penalties: Boston 42, Vancouver 36 (1 major penalty)

Power play goals: Boston 5, Vancouver 2

Short-handed goals: Boston 3, Vancouver 0

Also, Vancouver was called for 8 misconducts (1 game misconduct), Boston 9.

Fighting majors were even at 1 each (Kesler vs. Seidenberg).

Boston's PK killed Vancouver.

That's what having the best goaltender in the world at the time will do for you.

I still love the fact that the penalty kill unit was +1 on the series. That's not supposed to happen.

Tim Thomas was never that player before or after that year, but that year he was just absolutely transcendent.

It sure was tense.

I am happy LA won this past season but have to say the B's / Nucks series was FAR more exciting.

Because they're bored with no Bruins games to watch?

I don't think the Canucks are "wussies" or that anyone sitting behind a computer on a message board should be calling an NHL player that, but they were definitley ill-prepared for how physical the series got. Bruins took advantage and played a hell of a physical team game and took advantage of the media melting Luongo's brain.
Then why did Burrows bite? Pretty prisionish to me...

Yes, they were quite pathetic and __________. Deserved what they got. Didn't deserve to win the regular season rematch either, but that is a whole different matter.

Tanner Glass is not one of the better bottom six players in the league. He's a 4th liner at best and a healthy scratch on a lot of good teams.
