This is what I'm thinking. It's coming down to a bluffing game and both sides are being childish and ridiculous. It's like two kids fighting over the same ball by holding their breath until one passes out. Pathetic.

I really think at least a one month boycott by the fans at the start of whatever season we get is necessary. I am gonna cancel my LeafsTV for at least a while.

That is going to be a sad day...a very sad day.

Can we have a moment of silence?

First I can't believe the Maple Leafs finally get asked to particpate in a high profile event and just their luck it looks like it will be cancelled because of the lockout.

Second it's not even November yet and why should the NHL cancel the Winter Classic so fast, because they could still start the season in December if it ever came to that.

If it is cancelled, it will be made up next year right?

I'm all for it. They've already lost a ton of 24/7 time, and honestly, I'd prefer they reschedule it when we get both the game and Grabo acting like a psycho on national tv.

LOL @ people saying they're not disappointed and that the Winter Classic is boring.

It's like an ode to puck. How can you not love it? Especially when our team's involved.

The NHL is already a laughing stock in the US, this lockout only further solidifies that.

I hope it goes it longer than anyone expects. The NHL owners deserve it and more.

24/7 doesn't start filming right from the start of the season though does it? Can't remember

What excites you about it? I'm sure in person it might be interesting. So far the best thing I've seen out of it is Shawn Majumder sneaking into the initial photo without any of the players realizing it. To me it has the appeal of the All Star game, which is just about zero.

Totally agree. Keeping my fingers crossed that this happens for the Leafs next year.

Maybe its just me but the HBO special was what I was actually looking forward to. 24/7 of Phil Kessel? He'll put Bryz to shame.

The players deserve it and I hope this one loses two seasons. NHL players: dumbest athletes on the planet.

Honestly.. I don't care about the vast majority of Americans. I don't like American society or culture, and I heavily loathe how it dictates ours and other Western countries. The Country is a ****-hole, basically. Over half their major cities are crime-filled, no-go zones.

That said, I think we DO have some really amazing fans south of the border, and while some markets could use a lot more of them, I certainly don't want to end up sharing the same fanbase/culture as the NBA/NFL.

Being a niche Sport in America is just fine. Let's grow the game in Europe.

Or like one bully who took most of the toys last time they fought and wants to take a few more this time.

ive believed that the season will begin january 1st since their is too much money to be made/lost with this one game, if the nhl happens to cancel it then we can count on the whole season being cancelled

I'm happy.

New Year's Eve 2011- drunk, bet my buddy that the Leafs would never be in a WC, ever. We bet 2 cases of beer for no Leafs WC for 5 years.

One week later "Hey NHL fans, the next WC will have the Leafs and Red Wings!". Doh!

If this is cancelled due to a lockout, I'm back in the bet, baby!!!

That's the only thing I was looking forward to. The HBO 24/7's are great. Seeing my favorite team on it would've been great.

I'm not surprised though. Gary has been using this franchise as a patsy since 2004.

The Leafs were competing when the WC was announced, and then they played terrible. This whole lockout is so they can avoid being humiliated....maybe next year.
