was at the Vienna Capitals - Graz 99ers friday, Vanek was nearly invisible for he whole game. he looked slow through the game but made 2 very nice passes (one led to a goal). Overall nice game but a little bit disappointing from TV.

I was happy when vienna got Potter from edmonton as our NHL guy (we need Ds due to injuries) until i heard myers plays in klagenfurt ... i would have loved him here

Tue Oct 23 - Lockout Results

  • Sekera was E with 0 P, 1 SOG, 21:29 TOI in Slovan's 3-2 loss to CSKA. I tuned in for a couple minutes of the second period and caught most of Sekera's stats that were worth noting it seems. His minus came on a goal where a CSKA player clearly interfered with the goalie, tripping him to the ice. The subsequent point shot found its way past Sekera and the prone goalie. Sekera's next shift saw some hard work along the boards to regain possession with Satan ultimately sniping a corner on the counter for his plus. On one of his next shifts, Sekera got a wrister on a goal on a rush up ice.
  • Ennis (shoulder) was again scratched in Tigers' 4-2 loss to Davos (Thornton, Nash). His club faces off against Biel (Seguin, P.Kane) on Friday.

Ehrhoff with 6 G, 4 A, 10 pts, +5 thru 11 games with the Krefeld Penguins (DEL). He is the team's leading scorer. Former Amerk/Portland Pirate Mark Voakes is also on that team and has 2-6-8 and -1 for the Penguins in 13 games.

Vanek has 3 G, 5 A, 8 pts, -2 in six games for Graz. Tyler Myers is scoreless in two games with Klagenfurt; Sam Gagner is also on that team.

I know there are no Sabres in the KHL but since most of us get MSG, I thought I would post this here -

Correction: Andrej Sekera is playing for Slovan in the KHL so a future game of his could be shown on MSG -
thanks to Duddy for reminding me.

KHL on MSG - http://www.msg.com/khl-on-msg.html

Beginning Friday, Oct. 26, MSG will be airing games from the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL),
one of the most competitive hockey leagues in Europe.

Friday, Oct. 26 - Dinamo Minsk vs. Barys Astana - LIVE - 1:00 pm ET - Replay - 8:00 pm ET.
Wednesday, Oct. 31 - SKA St. Petersburg vs. Dinamo Riga - LIVE - 1:00 pm ET - Replay - 8:00 pm ET.

Former Sabres - Dmitri Kalinin and Maxim Afinogenov (although injuried) are on the SKA St. Petersburg roster -
Mikael Tellqvist and Paul Szczechura are on the Dinamo Riga roster.

Last edited by LaxSabre: 10-25-2012 at 03:11 PM. Reason: Forgot Sekera was playing for Slovan - thanks Duddy!

Miller's frustrations with the CBA negotiations has him now looking at opportunities overseas.

"If a team needs a goalie, I need to start considering it," Miller wrote in an email to ESPN The Magazine.

I watched about half of the game and I have to say Myers didn't have his best performance. He was on the ice for 2 of the first four goals against (1 on ES, 1 on the PK) and was in the box for the fifth, which was the Game-Winner (although it was a soft call). I didn't see him too much offensively and he was held pointless, he had 1-2 nice Checks along the boards, but also a couple of giveaways and bad passes in the neutral zone.

He really didn't earn his minus on the first goal against though, IMO. He the pressured the shooter into taking a wrister from barely across the blue line, entirely unscreened. Goalie should've had no problem stopping it. It was the kind of goal you expect to see in NHL13 about 1000% more often than in an actual hockey game.

True, he certainly wasn't directly responsible for any of the goals against, but it still wasn't a good game from him. He probably still is in kind of a Preseason-mode, because otherwise he should be a dominant player in a league like the Austrian or German one...

Ehrhoff with another goal today.
He is now 13-8-4 and 3rd in goalscoring in the DEL only 1 goal behind the leader.

Sun Oct 28 - Lockout Results

There were four games today:
  • Ehrhoff was -1 with 1 G, 3 SOG in Krefeld's 4-3 SOW versus Nurnberg. He also shot second in the shootout, but failed in his attempt.
  • Myers was -1 with 0 P in Klagenfurt's 4-3 win versus Salzburg. He was on the ice for 2 GA in the first period, but also featured on the GW PP unit late in the third. Clarkson, Enstrom, Gagner (2) and Lundmark all had goals in this one.
  • Sulzer was +1 with 1 PPG, 1 A, 4 SOG in ERC Ingolstadt's 4-3 loss to Hannover.
  • Vanek was -1 with 2 PPA in Graz's 3-2 OTL to Olimpija Ljubljana. He was on the ice for the OT GA, hence the minus.

Mon Oct 29 - Lockout Results

Only one game to report on today:
  • Sekera is +2 with 1 G, 1 A, 2 SOG, 6:31 TOI as Slovan leads Amur 3-0 after one period. He scored on a rebound as a Slovan player walked the puck out the corner; his right point shot was tipped in for an assist. I'm giving up on the stream though, too laggy; will edit in final stats and a YouTube link later.
  • EDIT: Sekera finished +2 with 1 G + 1 A, 5 SOG, 19:32 TOI in Slovan's 4-2 win over Amur. He's #44 in navy blue:

Ryan Miller to play in a charity game at the Los Angeles Kings practice facility in El Segundo on November 9 - http://mayorsmanor.com/2012/10/nhlpa...or-come-coach/

Steve Ott and 19 other NHL players recently took part in a workout in Plano, Texas -
http://starsblog.dallasnews.com/2012...ontinues.html/

“We love hanging out and we love playing, and we just love the game,’’ said Ott.
“So this is a great chance to challenge ourselves, push ourselves, and have a little fun too.’’

More KHL games to be televised on MSG - unfortunately none featuring Andrej Sekera -
