If they want to get sued, sure.

They won't even have to terminate his contract if it's another major knee injury. It would mean the end of Markov. The insurance companies would pay the rest of his contract.

Yeah. He could be forced to retire with a payout too.

But right now we know nothing.

Andrei Markov could get injured in a coffee shop.

Markova knows the plan is still to tank going forward for another year so if there is a season we are all set!!!

I feel bad for him, if all the rest of our roster had his talent, we would be fighting for the cup instead of an 8th place finish.

Guess he won't stay in the KHL even if it's a short lock-out after all
Its not the knee, upper body injury

I know you're joking, but in the surgical tanking thread a lot of people said there was no need to tank because we would have Markov this year.

Markov is done regardless of the nature of this injury. He's just injured too often and missed too much activity in recent years to come back and be useful. He should announce his retirement but he won't .. who would leave a couple millions for sitting on their ass? Hopefully he can join Mr. Pronger's club.

He was playing top 2 minutes (on a bad team, but still a KHL team) until this; for all we know right now he got a concussion. Markov wasn't an iron man even in his prime.

Seriously, how can you conclude this before we even know what happened? You could be right until we know it's all guesses.

The Markov hate among Habs fans is ridiculous.

I feel bad for the guy, he can't get a break.
I really hope he'll recover and play for us again and be able to have some success.

The you-know-what is really going to hit the fan when Mr. Hab finds out about this. Bolded words everywhere...

But seriously..
1) Hope it's nothing major
2) At least he'll have a year to recover!

Some pretty laughable responses in here. We don't even know what his injury is... Petit peuple

Taste of news, and reaction is sour lately because of his most recent comments. Honestly if he wants to remain in Russia, and injured, fine with me.

Andrei Markov was injured friday night in Russia. Nothing serious. And no! The right knee was not touched

Ribs bruises not the knee.
