if the injury is long term then The Habs would not have to pay his contract. I dont know about the cap issues though

That news is a sigh of relief. It's almost to be expected for him to have small bumps and bruises in various parts of his body this early on in his return.. His body is just starting to get used to the punishment again, it'll take some time.

I still think he comes back to the Habs as a worst case top-3 defenseman who will anchor the PP an put up 40-45 pts min.

Close enough, overreactions justified.

It's the price we pay as Habs fans.

It's complete BS, you don't get out of a game for a rib bruised. Him and Mister Ovechkin can stay in Russia after the lockout is done, it won't make any difference as I won't cheer for these 2 anymore.

What's funny in this topic is that there are still people who think Markov will be just as productive before all his injuries.

I'm sure the NHL's Russians will be devastated to know they don't have your support.

Considering he's 33, he'd be on the decline anyway, but there's a pretty big difference between "not as good" and "washed up"

I'm sure they won't as they are doing everything they can to get rid of it. Why even bother getting a Canadian citizenship Mister Markov? To complain about the high taxes?

Because he wasn't eligible for Martinique citizenship, duh.

If you're going to play hockey like this:

You might as well come back and not play at all.

The hate for Markov makes no sense... How can you hate someone for getting injured? I have a feeling that those who hate him didn't follow hockey at all when he was playing like an absolute machine.

Markov getting injured was a Russian plot to turn the NHL into a girly sport.

We should trade him + a prospect for a 7th rounder while he still has value!

No way, we're keeping that prospect!

Just let him fly with the LTIR club. He seems to got a taste for it.

He probably won't be touching any career highs, but you can bet that while he's on the ice, he will be a force and our BEST defenseman. It's no coincidence that PK turned into a different player once Markov came back to practice.

I hope he doesn't watch the Lattimore knee injury video.
