I don't know that I would call it historically bad. There have been years where no WHL forwards were drafted in the top 20 (last year and 2001 spring to mind), this year I think Shinkaruk and Lazar both have shots to go top 10, and both are very likely to go top 20. It is a pretty weak draft for dub forwards after these two, though.

Here's a vid of Hunter's 5 points last night:

https://twitter.com/antontibaldi/sta...78249298673664

the assist at 1:44 is pretty unreal.

if you wanna follow me on twitter, i'll be doing these on a semi-consistent basis when prospects have big nights/score highlight reel goals/whatever. quality isn't great, but i'll have them up much faster than the official sites (usually the night of).

2+1 tonight. The hype should come back around soon enough.

I made the Kessel comparison extremely early on because of the similarities in their respective drafts and talent not on their playing style and looks... Okay I lied they do share a resemblance, but that's not to offend Shinkaruk

Make that 2+2 tonight for a weekend total of 10 points in 2 games.

Unreal.

Kessel jr is picking up the pace, 9 points in his last two games!

Hmm... In just two games he's above last year's ridiculous 91 points in 66 games

Maybe someone who watches MH regularly could help me with this, I was wondering how well Shinkaruk plays center. I keep hearing him brought up as a potential center to play with Kessel for the Leafs, but Ive only seen him play wing when I watched the Tigers. Could he be an NHL center?

When he first came into the league he was a center. Played their off and on, but I know he can play the position. For me, I think he's better suited as a winger.

In there something specific that makes you think he's better on the wing?

He does sound a lot like Kessel except he seems to have more jam to his game than Phil.

I think he will go from anywhere in the top 5-15 selection come draft day.

I just think he's better suited to score from the wing. Also, I think having him on the wing allows him to be a bit more creative offensively without having to worry so much about checking as a C.

He certainly seems to be as hot and cold as anyone in this draft.

Sorry, should have clarified, I mean depth-wise moreso. Everyone knows about Lazar and Shinkaruk, those are basically the only two on the table, I'd be very shocked if another WHL player from this year made it to the NHL.

You mean, regarding first rounders, or the entire eligible WHL 2013 NHL draft class? Because I have a few names in mind that I would beg to differ...

Yep. Lots of 2013 eligible forwards with great tools. Bjorkstrand and De Leo too.

I think De Leo is 2014.

Yeah all those mentioned above seem like top two round players(ALTHOUGH maybe not in this draft since it's pretty loaded).

It's just my opinion as a fan, I'm not a professional scout or anything so don't hold me to my grave with that.
