What do you miss most about the Habs/NHL?

Inspired by a thread on the main boards, what do you miss most about the Habs/Hockey?

For me: I miss waking up knowing theres a game that day. Post game showers after a big W or big L. Trying to go to sleep after a big win and being to amped up on energy so you just sit there and replay the game in your head. Same goes for a loss, too depressed to sleep so you just think. I miss GDT, screaming when the habs score. Going to every game at the ACC when the Habs come to town. So much that I miss that It truly does make me a bit depressed when I realize there's no hockey.

For me it is watching A hockey game that I really care about the outcome. I like the dogs and Mooseheads but if they lose it doesn't mean that much to me against if the habs lose

HNIC a little bit. Saturday night sort of tradition I guess. But I don't miss hockey tremendously

For me, it's the whole saturday night/hockey night in Canada phenomenon. Knowing that at 7pm EST the entire sports watching part of the country is tuned into a game (Toronto/Montreal/Ottawa/Winnipeg). I live just outside Toronto, so I especially love it when I hear Jim Hughson in the middle of a game saying 'let's go to Ron Mclean for an update' and for 8 seconds everyone is watching a Habs goal. Then 10 minutes later, it's a Jets goal. All these games are happening at the same time. The excitement surrounding that.

Knowing that even if I have no plans, I will have something to do and look forward to. Even if me and some friends decide not to go out, we can still get together to watch the game.

Although I follow the weekday games, I don't get as amped up for them.

As mentioned, I live outside Toronto so the Habs playing the Leafs is always a big game for me as 90% of my friends are leafs fans. We all try and get our fix through the Bulldogs/Marlies but I agree with a previous post that it just isn't the same. Also the money I am spending now on the AHL is money I'd have spent even if there were an NHL season.

Well said.

I personally am missing not having newer material for dissing Scott Gomez. What a bore.

I'd love to remember what I miss most, but Jacques Martin and Pierre Gauthier sucked the life out of the game the past years.

Saturday Nights

Its just the day of the night in the winter when you know the habs are playing, and its been like that since I can remember. I like everything that comes with it, such as canadian doubleheaders, the hotstove, and coach's corner.

I dont feel as emotionally attached to the team as I used to be, so I dont really miss the day to day stuff too much.... just saturday nights.

Game nights.

At work, all I could think about was; "Get home, prepare supper, do homework with the kids, relax and watch hockey."

Now... everything mentioned above minus the hockey.

A gameday, sometimes helps you get through your day at work, the game was something to look forward to that evening...then relaxing and watching the game itself...man, this winter is really gonna suck without the Habs...

You know what I'm not going to miss? The letdown.......after I spent my entire day thinking about pregame, who's in, who's out, injuries, who's in net tonight, etc, etc. only to watch my team get beat 5-0 at home and booed off the ice.

Yep my October has gone pretty good so far.

I have missed the knowledge that my Habs are in the hands of the best hockey minds in the game. Now that has been resolved, watching the Bulldogs/Habs best players gaining experience will appease my appetite for Habs hockey, while I await their return to Glory.

The game day ritual. Waking up and knowing I have something to look forward to that evening. The game day radio coverage. The atmosphere of the bar. The highs and lows of the actual game. The post game radio coverage. The next day radio coverage. I like radio

I miss battling the Bruins, Leafs, Flyers, Pens, Rags, ... the rest of the NE division and the original 6.

The rest I can easily find other stuff just as interesting.

I like Radio massively as well. It's more peaceful than TV, and you use your imagination. Use to fall asleep when I was a kid after Dick and Danny's broadcasts from Detroit, or wherever...and a win.
