Actually in the Finnish Elite League we have commercial breaks. Every game is televised so every game has commercial breaks. They're not long breaks but they give opportunities for hot players to rest a bit and stay on the ice before and after the break. And in Helsinki the breaks are longer than in the rural areas.

And here're highlights for today's Turris's Kärpät game. Kyle's goal attempt @ 2:12. Pelicans' goalie is San Jose's Antti Niemi. Saves 31 of 34.

The first time Karlsson played for Jokerit, Hartwall Arena jumbotron showed a text "Välkommen Erik Karlsson" (Welcome Erik Karlsson) with the music from the movie adaptation from Världens bästa Karlsson you can see yourself from below.

Yeah, they should but I'm afraid nobody would understand what's it all about.

what we need is for some of the other karlsson's to make the league (not you calgary backup) and then when karlsson scores or makes a sick assist against that team, play the song.

As a curiosity, how many goals have been scored against Jokerit since Erik joined the team (and before)? How many goals against has he been on the ice for?

I could tabulate some of that myself I guess by going through this thread but it seems like a lot of people can make better sense than I can of the Jokerit stat pages online.

Something like 18 of past 24-25 goals scored by Jokerit, since his joining, while he's been on the ice which is remarkable and I believe he leads FEL in +/-

Sure but how many goals against has he been on the ice for? And how many goals against have been scored since he's joined the team? And how does that compare to the team beforehand?

Before Erik joined the team, 18 goals had been scored against Jokerit in 5 games. That's 3.6 goals per game. After Erik joined the team, 21 goals have been scored against in 12 games. 1.75 goals per game.

Obviously not counting PP or PK, Erik's been on the ice 16 times when Jokerit has scored and only 5 times when the opposing team has scored. So it's +16 -5 = +11.

Since Erik joined Jokerit, they have made 36 goals.

But it's not just Karlsson's influence that Jokerit has done so much better than at the beginning of the season. Detroit's Valtteri Filppula joined the team one game earlier and he has been a huge player for Jokerit too.

Highlights from yesterday's Jokerit 45th Anniversary game.

Jarkko Ruutu steals the puck from Ilves' defenseman @ 0:52. That theft leads to 2-0 goal.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRxsD...ure=plpp_video

Jokerit was formed in 1967 from a team previously known as Töölön Vesa so the fans had made tifo that was displayed just before the start of the game.

And behold, Jokerit third jersey has no ads!

Karlsson just barely avoided a bad hit yesterday against Ilves. As per SM-liiga refereeing standards (i.e. sucks), no penalties were given.
