I'm definitely up for changing that rule to make it mandatory all playoff games be played.
I second that motion

2 of 3 Commissoners agree, I believe we should change the rule.

At the beginning, I didn't know if this was going to be a sim kinda league or not when I made that rule.

It is now manditory to play all your playoff games. If you choose not to play in the 1 week time frame of the series, you will be removed as GM of the team.
In some of my other leagues I'm in, some people choose not to play and just let it sim, I find that unfair because well I got eliminated that way and I would've probably swept the guy.

I look forward to all the GM's who get kicked out because of this.

I'm giving a week to do a series. 7 days and 7 games, shouldn't be a problem.

Wellllll yes and no. People will not have the same schedules. Who gets kicked out if both sides say they tried and the other couldnt make it? Do we kick out both?

not both, usually 1 of the players are inactive and the other wants to play.

One week time frame is ridiculous. There shouldn't be a time frame on playoff rounds other than "make a reasonable effort to get it done in a timely manner". As long as GM's are communicating and trying to play their games, we shouldn't be concerned with time for the playoffs. If there's a GM that clearly isn't making an effort to play their series, they should be removed.

The expectation for the playoffs is you should be visibly communicating with your opponent to set up times to get games done. If that's happening, I don't think there should be a time limit.

But what if I want to play one night, and the guy cant, but then I cant play the next night and he can? Who gets kicked out then?

EV, you're such a **** stirrer, lol.

I agree that playoffs should be mandatory to play all seven games. So all three commish agree.

I think it should either be play the games or set to CPU.

Also 7 days is far too long. Normally when two guys are playing in a 7 game series they will play all in a row, OR break it up into two session max. (Edit: a week per round would be a month just to finish the playoffs...)

Why not just advance when everyone is done their series?

because we could be sitting here for weeks waiting for 1 series to get finished.

I'd rather we stuck to the same schedule...

Most series likely wont go to 7, though some might... and there's isn't a bunch of guys to track down, just 1.

Just don't see the need unless there's an extenuating circumstance.

It also sucks that 14/30 guys wouldn't be doing anything in the league for a month...

I'm being nice and giving it a week, it could be a flexible week though, not a solid deadline. If we're done before the 1 week advance, perfect. We'll advance right away. And if there's an active series going on during the day of the advance or if there's a series in progress, we'll let it finish.

What you might want to do is say maybe 5 days for the first round and then less for the next rounds... hell the finals will be 1 day I hope.

yeah it would be unfair to non playoff teams to make them wait a month for the playoffs to finish. Likely most wouldn't wait and would join other leagues.

If I make the playoffs, i highly doubt I will have time to do 7 games in a week. If i don't I'm not waiting a month for the playoffs to end...

So it seems neither scenario works for you, while something in the middle also wouldn't. This, combined with your inability to play 7 games in a week (particularly when this league features 2 sims a week with 4-7 games in each of them), suggests to me that a sim league may be more appropriate for you.

? Turn on CPU? Or turn on CPU for some games?

Remember it's a best of 7... not 7 full games... well unless it's very close.

Ohhh ok. Yeah I don't mind turning on my CPU if I can't do some games. I thought we had to play all games in person. I can make things work (if I make the playoffs) if the person I play PMs me to arrange a time for each game, but relying on the chance that both of us would be online at the same time, there's no chance we'd be that lucky 7 times in a week given the hours I'm usually on (Past 11pm). I'm fine taking a break from my work to play some games earlier than that, but I have no idea if people are online wanting to play me if they don't PM me here since I'm not on xbox live...

yeah don't worry too much, given you only have one opponent, it should be reasonably easy to figure out time(s) over a few days, provided people communicate like you say

GG Boston.

Big goal from Steve Ott with not much time left in te 3rd and then a goal with 2 secs left from Rnnis to make it a 3-1 final in favor of Buffalo. Much needed two points.
