Our tradition started in 1993, and it's been awesome. Everything before that can and should be ignored.
And they should go back to green. It's a great look. This black and white look is boring.
I'm amazed that there is so much worry about changing the color scheme when the team effectively abandoned green and gold a few years ago when they ditched the old all star based jersey. This team hasn't had "Stars" colors for a number of seasons.
???
The home unis of course having no green other than in the symbol on the shoulders - but that's the problem right there. Not enough of it. The color scheme is still there, it's just the green is nearly non existent in the home unis. The symbols is still green and gold, the away whites have green and gold (though still not enough), it's the same.
It's not really legit... they could've made it work if they wanted to. Unlike with Colorado, the Stars' stripes weren't sewn on. It would've involved custom printing on multiple different Edge panels, but it could've been done. It's not like the original star jerseys didn't result in the star outline getting scrunched up and wrinkled looking depending on how the player moved.

i understand where you are coming from, but there is more to it than just the RBK thing. resources. limited. it wasn't going to happen at that time. easy way out was taken.
Oh yeah, there's no doubt it would've taken more effort on everyone's part and ended up costing more. I'm sure they would've made it back in jersey sales though.
Part of the reason why re-designing 30 teams all at once isn't such a great idea. Some inevitably get sent to the backburner.
@StarsInsideEdge Dallas Stars team officials saw mockups of possible new uniforms in Frisco today. The specifics of the uniforms are top secret, so don't ask
Boom

Do teams have to send the "final" version of it by Sep? I was under the impression that Dallas submitted multiple versions.
Based on the info from two years ago, teams had until the end of December. They did have to send some jersey mock-ups to the league for approval by the middle of September and they had until the end of the year to pick a final jersey.
Gaglardi just confirmed that new jerseys are in the works. He mentioned that he is a fan of having the primary logo on the chest and he doesn't like that Dallas is the only team that doesn't use the primary. He also said they need more color. He mentioned the Stars history and tradition. It ended with him also mentioning that they could change the primary too.
