Marc-Andre Bourdon is having as tough as a night as I've heard of (not watching the game).

Idk how he's looked for Adirondack prior to tonight, but Couturier was without a doubt the best Phantom on the ice tonight. He was a constant threat, often taking defenders wide and beating them with speed to create chances. He toe-dragged beautifully around an Amerk defender early in the third, only to see his shot ring off the post.

Also, there were a ridiculous amount of penalties in this game, but late in the second, Bourdon took two costly and undisciplined penalties (slashing, unsportsmanlike for shooting stick away) that negated nearly all of the PP time from Tarnasky's boarding major, really hindering a good chance to cut it to one-goal game.

Stolarz played tonight for Nebraska-Omaha. He was pulled after the second period after allowing 3 goals on 13 shots. His team lost 3-2.

Gostisbehere had 1 assist in two games this weekend for Union in an 8-0 win and a 2-2 tie.

Ah that sucks. Hopefully we'll know more soon and it's nothing too serious.

adirondack is just not a good team right now. I think they will stuggle big time this year. I was hoping this was going to be a good situation for schenn couturier and gus to grow and learn but im having doubts now.

Oh, they'll learn. Learn to stay the **** out of there But anyway, if they're on a crappy team, they should learn how to make the team much better by leading it.

Yep, right now this is backfiring big time. Instead of building confidence and growing into bigger roles they are getting burnt every other night and seem to throw aboard what little was still left from what they had learned over the last season.
No balance right now and no visible system established yet. They are either trying to do something too fancy or just playing stupid.

The biggest question that needs to be asked is what is Terry Murray trying to do in Adirondack? Watching the guys play is just about as bad as when Idiot Stick was the head coach in Adirondack. It's clear that the young players are not buying anything that Terry Murray is trying to pass on to them. I'm wondering if maybe letting Joe Paterson go wasn't such a smart move after all......

Wait, some people thought that was a good idea? Everyone bemoaned that move and many, many people questioned whether Terry Murray was an appropriate replacement for a team that runs such a wildly different system at the NHL level.

Thought Murray was brought in to teach some of the players how to play defense?

It seems like they are doing quite badly, but they've only played 4 games. I think people should give them at least 15 games before they start jumping on the Terry Murray is coaching them into the ground train.

The Flyers have arguably the worst group of defense prospects in the league and the Phantoms lack a quality goalie. I'm not sure the problem is the coach.

Actually the reason people were so excited about the Phantoms this year is because everything seemed to be in place, at least on paper. The defense is by no means spectacular, and same goes for the goalies. But I don't think anyone expected the two groups to be this awful. I know it's early on but man oh man it's been painful to watch. The forwards haven't been much better. As I said before when Zac Rinaldo looks like a more competent player then Schenn and Couturier, to me that speaks volumes about this being a team without an identity on the ice. It's something Murray needs to fix. And fast.

But we arent the only team out there with that. Like honestly, half the teams in the AHL have just AHL guys/ borderline prospects.

Voice of the Phantoms says way too much during his PxP.
