Eh. I grant you it's not the Legion of Doom, but it's not terrible. Lindberg is definitely solid - both according to the stat sheet and the eye test. Fast is 6', but certainly needs to fill out. Hags is slight, no doubt.

No, that's pretty terrible, hah. I would not want those three on the same line. They would be continually stuck in their own zone against bigger grinders.

Given their speed, there's a good chance they would just dance around those bigger grinders. Not saying I'd want them all on the same line, if they all made the team, but don't see their size as an obstacle.

Yeah, I don't really believe that. You need at least one big guy on a line with two shrimp. And he better be pretty big. That's why you generally don't see teams putting small guys all on one line. It just doesn't work.

Jon, you don't think Lindberg is solid? He's not Jean, but he's got a good solid frame IMO.

Fast is of course slight, but isn't short - hopefully he can add muscle.

Hags... well, being the fastest player in the league makes up for a lot.

(Not that I'm necessarily advocating that they play together - just discussing each of them individually.)

Really don't think their size would be a big problem, at all.

Hagelin may be small but he's a fiend on the boards. He's clearly proven at this point that his size doesn't really hinder him.

Lindberg and Fast certainly aren't huge, but they're not tiny. Both are also very intelligent players.

And to stretch it even further, a good faceoff man will give them plenty of possession.

Not advocating this as a line, just don't think it would be bad.

I'll echo what Jon said, there's a reason you generally don't see three guys that are on the smaller side playing together on the same line.

It's not a question of them not being able to play at the NHL level, it's the fact that is becomes very one-dimensional and very easy to get phsyically owned if you pair them all together.

Even with Lindberg being the biggest of the three, you're talking about a line that average about 6'0, 185-190 pounds. That's pretty small.

Needless to say, I don't think putting them all together would be the way to go.

Spread it out a little.

How about ?:
Nash - Richards - Callahan = Size & skill - skill - grit
Kreider - Stepan - Gaborik = Speed & size - skill - more speed
Hagelin - Lindberg - Fast = Swedish shrimp line
Boyle - JT Miller - Jean = Gargantua line

Rupp/Asham as spares

lol

Just to be clear - if we have this above fwd squad in the future and also have McD -Girardi; Staal - Sauer; MDZ - Big Mac; Bickel on D and Hank/Biron between the pipes, we Would then have only 4-5 players that are brought in as free-agent mercenaries, the rest would have become regular NHLers in the NYR organization (I count Boyle here too then)!!!!! Talk about creating team identity for a long term consistent success. Edge is right though, probably not going to see all these players on the ice at once as New York Rangers...

To balance that lineup, I'd probably flip Lindberg and Miller.

But it's hard for me to say, because I don't see all of those guys playing at the same time.

In time people, will be moved or move on.

Miller, Lingberg or Fast on the 4th line would be a complete waste of them(not counting their first dozen games in the league), but like Edge said, players will be moved so it's not going to come down to them being on the 4th line.

Well maybe Lindberg will be a top 4th line guy, but the way he's playing this season, he's making quite a good case that his potential is rising to a good 3rd liner, plug in 2nd liner.

Great defensive center, great on draws, sounds accurate to me. Lindberg should be able to put up more points though. Hopefully.

I think Lindberg has a good shot to be a solid third line center.

I don't see him as a second liner, but a valuable defensive center with a dash of offense isn't far fetched at all.

I've always been a big fan of Lindberg and him rated a little bit higher than our final prospect rankings.

I am just excited that his offensive skills are coming out. Makes him a much better prospect and he has a real shot at being a NHLer.

As reported in the prospect thread, looks like he sustained a concussion today. ****
