I would like to agree but the hype of the other 3 started much earlier than Drouin and that in itself makes it tougher but it is possible

Honestly, I can see him outplaying Jones and Barkov. Jones is the complete package..just like Adam Larsson was. But it didn't stop guys like Huberdeau to be pick ahead of him. It all depends of the team and if they want to go with the sexy pick. Drouin is amazing right now...he should be tested for real..

Funny part is, he only played 8 and a half games since he left one early. I won't be shocked to see him play center and be the best guy long term. But Nate has had tremendous hype for years and won't be passed. Barkov seems the most NHL ready and I think goes 2nd. Jones is one I'm unsure if Drouin passes him but still tons of hockey to be played so anything can happen

Thought he would go 4th before (Monahan not Barkov above him), I think the Mooseheads dual can go one and two now

The team with the 1st overall pick should try and pick up the 2nd overall and pick both MacKinnon and Drouin. Just like a Yakupov-Galchenyuk duo or Sedins. Drouin and MacKinnon in the NHL together will be devastating with a good veteran winger.

Drouin's hat trick: http://www.rds.ca/zone-video/#cat=en...videoID=115364

His 1st goal is insane but his 2nd goal is an example of his hockey IQ. This kid is the Robert Griffin III of this year's draft. Everybody talks about Andrew Luck but RG3 is the most exciting player!

I still think he should play as a centre but it's the same with Giroux who can play both

Honestly, does this kid progress everynight? Very hard to tell he missed any time, and is just out of this world in the offensive zone.

On pace for 150 points in 62 games lol.

His chances of being a top 5 pick improve every night.

Logically, would he be around the 7-8-9 selections?

Not really since anything could happen. Teams in the 4th to 6th spot could very well pick a forward instead of a defenseman. Drouin as of right now should be only behind MacKinnon and Barkov if we are comparing forwards. He is much more dynamic and creative than Monahan and Shinkaruk. However, IMO, there is one sleeper and it's Elias Lindholm. The kid is playing really well on the international level and right now in the Elisterien. He's 2nd in scoring on his team as an 17 yo.

I have seen that about Lindholm, really like his play. As for Drouin, I don't get the opportunity to watch that many Moose game so thanks for the report.

What makes him more dynamic than Monahan-Shinkaruk? Hockey IQ?

hockey IQ, hands, incredible vision and patience/control with the puck. Hard working in the corners and speedy too.

Not only that, but Drouin is incredibly strong on his skates and rarely loses his battles in the corners.

Guys..look at the chemistry between MacKinnon and Drouin.

Willy Palov ‏@CH_WillyPalov

There are also a ton of scouts here tonight, including Trevor Timmins and two others from Habs staff. Drouin/MacKinnon putting on a show.

Craig Button just tweeted that he was also there. And he replied to me that he will put a Jonathan Drouin capsule on TSN by monday morning after tomorrow's game vs PEI.

Hah, i'm not saying he can't skate but just compare him with few 09, 10 and 11 5'11 draftees speedwise.

I will pay you the 7.95 it takes to watch a game so you can get it right if you'd like....

That's not defending my favorite player... He's just been much faster this season...
