They could be a decent darkhorse team this year.

For me though, it's pretty much nothing. The only sport I truly enjoy watching is hockey, I don't really watch other sports unless it's a big event or it's a home team.

I might try and follow the Raptors more this year but honestly with school I'm not so sure if I'll be too into it

I find junior hockey to be more "exciting" then AHL hockey, even with the influx of talent this season. Probably stems from the fact that I've always been more interested in junior.

Well I usually always keep an eye on the Marlies no matter what, even more so this year with the lockout.

It is more exciting. AHL hockey is all about straight grinding. I like watching AHL too but it pales in terms of entertainment quality compared to junior.

I think the Raptors have improved, but doubtful they make the playoffs.

Lmao, you realize how much of a joke the Eastern conference is right? The Sixers made it last season with a 35-31 record (.530) and I don't think they'll make it again after trading Iggy, not a good trade imo. The other teams who missed the playoffs haven't improved as much as Toronto, I'm not sure we'll get the last spot, but I think there is a good chance the Raptors make the playoffs.

So tell me straight up: do you think the Raptors will make the playoffs?

I would love it if they did...I'll cheer for any Toronto team to make the playoffs (Leafs, Raptors, Blue Jays, TFC...Argonauts don't count). I just don't think they will. Hope I'm wrong.

I'll go with 65% chance we make it, depends on Bynum in Philly, if his knee stays healthy which I doubt it will we'll battle with them for the last spot.

Good thing that knees useless and Iggy is in the West now, and Argos do count... They just clinched a playoff spot like two days ago haha

Argos don't count. Professional football...in Canada...in a 8 team league...where going 6-12 can make the playoffs. Let me think about that. Not saying it's easy, but in comparison to the other leagues, I care a lot more about NHL, NBA, MLB, and even MLS.

Landry Fields (aka Laundry Fields, jack of all trades master of none type player. Was part of a coup by BC to get Steve Nash here and not with the Knicks that failed, seen as a bad signing but more like mediocre one. He's a pretty good baller but his jumpshot and FT shooting sucks. Decent defender and off the ball player though. Knicks fans don't miss him), Kyle Lowry (Top 10 PG in the NBA, the real deal, will make Raps games more fun to watch not having to see Calderon out there most of the games either), Terrence Ross (8th overall pick and pretty good defending shooting guard with a nice shooting stroke but not really good off the bounce, pretty athletic), John Lucas III (decent 2nd/3rd string PG, played well for the Bulls last season with the absense of Derrick Rose. Shoot first PG who is streaky. Gives raps diff dimension at PG spot), Quncy Acy (raw athletic big taken in 2nd round, not expected to do much this year. 15th man or D-league bound, good rebounder though, compare to a younger more inexperienced Reggie Evans), and last but not least Jonas Valanciunas (big things expected for this young talented center from Lithuania, expected to be in the hunt for ROY if he stays out of foul trouble, will probably be starting center if he keeps improving, Aaron Gray is nothing special.)

Gone are Jerryd Bayless, James Johnson, Jamaal Magloire, Rasual Butler, Leandro Barbosa. No real losses there. I liked Barbosas game but JLIII is basically a younger Barbosa.

Start paying attention guys Raptors are gonna be a good team this year. East got a bit better but Raps got a LOT better. Some teams got significantly worse like Orlando, Chicago (lost Asik, some bench depth with JLIII and Korver and of course no D-Rose) and Atlanta. And some teams are older or got older like Boston and New York who will probably be fighting injuries more then most teams.
