I think Couture meant to say that we've already lost 26.5 percent of the season but anyway those talented high school dropouts clearly have no understanding of the actual negotiations.
Where are the pro-players side now? See how they can defend Coutures stupidity.
I wasn't aware that the owners were asking for 25% of the money in his wallet. Maybe that's why the NHLPA is refusing the NHL's proposals
It just goes to show the REAL LIFE mentality of a player signing a contract. They don't think of it as 5Mill over 5 years.
they think it's 25 milllion guaranteed no questions asked.
I play like crap.. 25 million.
I play like a horses ass... 25 million.
mine... contract.. mine.. signed contract.. mine
The second they sign.. that's they're money in wallet regardless if they even give .0000001 percent of an effort to sign it.
The players treat all contracts as one big giant signing bonus.
That's why Getllaf took a giant friggin crap in the woods last year. and that's just 1 example. Not singling him out because there's many more players guilty of the exact same thing.
Cops and firefighters unfortunately die in their lines of work trying to make our society safer. How many months of vacation do they get for 1/200 of the average NHL salary? Truly sickening.
Oh please, what did he say that was incorrect? Yes, being an emergency worker is a brave profession, and he's not denigrating them. He didn't even bring them up.
I have a much better shot at being a cop then a pro hockey player. I can't even imagine the hard work and dedication it takes to be an elite player like he is. Both work hard, both deserve respect.

He is wrong in saying that the owners want 25% of his salary. They don't. They have said there'd be no rollbacks but Coutures future earnings are not going to be what he'dbe hoping for with a new CBA.
I hate it when professional sports people making millions a year complain. They chose this profession and knew what they were letting themselves in for with regards to travel etc. so no point in complaining.
I wonder how many relationships are being destroyed by stupid tweets by these guys, or by guys like the wings management guy who called the players cattle?
Was there an increase in the number of players signing with different teams or asking for trades after the last lockout? Nothing is ever 'just business', it's always personal.
Have the NHL owners reached into his bank account and taken 25% of his wage?
They may have reduced his ability to earn money in the future but I seriously doubt they've taken money from him, thus he had said something incorrect
No but it's evidence that the players are being mislead by PA leadership. I would like to be a fly on the wall when Fehr has a conference call. I could just imagine the crap that he must sling.

As much of a hockey fan as I am I think that cops and firefighters do more for us than pro athletes. These emergency professions have more of my respect than whiney millionaires.
@Logancouture: Ever been told ur family? Then told, wait, I'm gonna reach into your wallet and take 25% of ur income. That's how
NHL owners are these days
Rich kids...
The sense of entitlement, and disrespect towards the fans is sickening...
