It's funny how having solid teammates can really open up the ice.

Schultz is badly outscoring all his forwards. I don't think it is realistic to compare them when he is on a streak that has him fighting for the league scoring lead right now. Cory Conacher is also outscoring Eberle and RNH so the minor league stats have to be taken with a big grain of salt. Things will shift around after a few more games and start to make more sense. However its the first big step for JS to translate his attacking skills to the pros.

He has always been a better goals corer than Gardiner and all other things being equal that would make him the more valuable player to me if it continues. But this is way too early to be evaluating any players. Marco Scandella is only 1 point behind Schultz today and I am guessing that won't be sustained either.

Lets review in another 20 games or so when Kadri breaks out of his 0 goal 39 assist pace. I am also liking the starts of Granlund and Baertschi.

Schultz is the far and away better player, but you still have to give it to Gardiner right now as he put up points in the NHL.

I have little doubt though that Schultz will blitz past him in a short-time frame.

Gardiner's a good prospect who turned into an over-hyped prospect when he was traded to Toronto.

And he is a good player, who became an overhyped player simply because he is a Toronto Maple Leaf, and we are desperate for good young players.

Would be pretty awesome but instead of Shultz I'd rather have a stay at home, shut down d-man.

Can't really compare the two. Gardiner's played a full NHL season, while Schultz has yet to play a game in the NHL.

Points don't show everything, especially over such a small sample size.

From watching both, I would actually say Gardiner is playing better. Schultz has just racked up more points.
