I was a huge Sutton fan and liked his game last year. As another person said in this thread; too bad he wasn't 5 - 6 years younger.

I didn't never did really. tbh he played better than I thought he would and particularly in some segments of the schedule. I don't like the player, but doesn't stop me from wishing him well and having a healthy life moving forward. He's making the right decision for his quality of life and leaving some money on the table to do that. I can respect that the healthy priorities are in order.

He should get his number retired for that alone.

Let's not get carried away, he didn't do a good enough job for the jersey retirement. Horcoff is still playing.

I jumped for joy the day we traded foster for sutton! He was always a fav of mine and like most of you I thought he was a perfect 6th or 7th depth guy. I hate to see him go out like this, hope its not the end. If it is best of luck to him!

whether you liked the guy or not he appears to be one of the first casualities of the lockout. While the guys with 100 million dollar deals "stand up" to the owners players like this are losing their careers because of a lockout.

I'm not here to debate which side is right but from the average players point of view it seems a little ridiculous to throw away one of the few years they may have to make money to help ovechkin make an extra 10 mil over 10 years.
