Bob works solo, so he has to do color commentary as well as the play-by-play duties.

Which is a very hard thing to do. I was just commenting on how when play is going on, he seems to say too much. His color is fine.

How long has he been calling the Phantoms?

Almost every tweet I've seen about today's game was someone taking a penalty.

Now Schenn ties the game with 62 seconds left. Sounds like he's had his best game compared to a poor start to the year

Yeah, you can't take that many penalties and expect you to win. Also the power play needs to capitalize on their chances.

Let's hope he performs like that this year in the NHL. If he can stay healthy and get 50 or so points, we are going to have a good center depth.

I think he was assuming the AHL stats weren't up-to-date yet. Great seeing Schenn rack up the points, though.

Schenn with 9 points in 7, and Couts with 6 in 7.

Shame most of the rest of the team have been playing like morons the first few games.

From the 3 I have seen parts of, those two, McGinn, Rinaldo and (surprisingly, he was even scratched tonight) Lauridson have looked consistently ok, the defence has been non-existent at times!

good to see the big guys stepping up tonight.
The rest of the team tho better get their **** together. Meltzer was saying on twitter that the Phantoms bench was screaming at the refs in the 2nd period when Syracuse took the lead tonight. 2 things Murray preaches team discipline and defense. 2 things that the Phantoms have gotten away from early on.
I think Rinaldo took a bad penalty Saturday night. I am sure Murray was sending him a message.

There's still an awful lot of work to be done in Adirondack. The biggest issue that I see is chemistry and there seems to be incredible lack of chemistry amongst the guys. As well, I'm wondering if maybe moving Schenn back to center and having Couturier man the second line might be the way to go. It could get a couple of other guys (Matt Ford and Eric Wellwood in particular) back on track if that's the way Murray is looking at going. You would have a solid number one line of McGinn / Schenn / Ford and Wellwood / Couturier / Mangene or whoever you plug there (at this point, I'd be an advocate of the team bringing up Akeson and Noebels from Trenton and sending down Johnston and Brown/FitzGerald/etc....). Maybe get some additional scoring from some others and this team gets back on track.

highlights available at http://ahl.neulion.com/ahl/

From the highlights (and score sheet) it looked like Schenn was the best phantom. Couturier, Gus and Manning looked to have played well also.

Couts and Schenn are centering 2 diffrent lines right?

Those two look to be playing the same pp together and are really putting up alot of pts when they are the same unit.

I thought Schenn was playing wing on Couturier's line?

Bill said Murray has split them up....and I dont think that was a good idea when the team is struggling to get goals.

I prefer it this way. Those two are much more valuable when they are at center.

Longterm, with Laugton, Cousins, etc not far removed if we miss this season, a couple of young guys need to move to wings.

I don't mind if Couts and Schenn stay at the C for this season, but I'd hate to have a situation like Jordan Staal where Couturier/Schenn wants top 2 line minutes, but can't get them because they're blocked by the other and Giroux.

I remember readin from Bill or another writer that the team seems to see Schenn as a winger and I dont mind it either. Hopefully Laughton can be more than a fourth line center.

The phantoms did better offensively when Schenn an Couturier were on the same line

Schenn-Couturier-Briere
Read-Laughton-Simmonds
Wellwood-Talbot-Cousins/Rinaldo/Sestito
