Eddie O, not sure of my feelings on that. Never been a huge fan of his but this is probably the draft he should go in.

Well I knew Martin wasn't slipping to me, but I was really hoping Raleigh would, nice pick

Raleigh was really high for us too. Probably - but not definitely - the best offensive center that will be taken here.

It's now been 16 hours since BB picked Eddie O. So four clocks have expired. Including ours.

Dreakmur and I have agreed to select with our first pick, RW Petr Sykora.

Sykora has the best offensive regular season resume of any post-expansion winger, and his excellent playoff record is just gravy on that.

Sykora has more playoff experience than all but one available player. Only one available player is within 13 points of Sykora's playoff total.

It is now tony d's turn. I am going to PM everyone that was skipped.

Apparently we weren't the only ones who knew who the best players were coming into this draft.

I think anyone who was paying attention to the discussion in the preliminary thread for the HOH goalies project would have been looking closely at Seth Martin

I do have to credit VI for that one - he's the one who first got me looking for reasons why Martin chose not to play in the NHL

With our 1st pick, 7th overall in the 2012 AAA draft the St.John's Monsters proudly select Centre Josef Malecek.

Among Malecek's many accomplishments he was the first hockey player to reach the 1000 goal plateau.

More on Malecek can be found by clicking here:

http://www.sihss.se/josefmalecek.html

Next has been pmed.

Good pick. He was in the mix for one of my first two picks for sure and I have him pegged as the second best center in the draft behind Raleigh.

Malecek is also a solid pick. I took him in the MLD before and took a little flack but he is a good pick at this point.

Thanks to both of you for making my next pick a lot easier.

Here is a player that I once had on my AAA team. He is a legit first liner with a lot of speed and is one of the best scorers in the draft. The Belleville Bulls select:

RW - Haviland Routh

Put the St. John's IceCaps on record as having picked Herb Carnegie, C, and don't ask why I'm up in this time zone right now. I'll talk about him in the morning.

I've spent too long away from the ATD and forgot about the PMing rule, but I did that about an hour ago. Once BillyShoe gets here and picks we'll be back on track.

I'll select two guys that were very solid offensive producers despite the fact that they were surrounded by little talent, LW Geoff Sanderson

and C Olli Jokinen

And I'll take Dynamo's leading scorer for most of the 80s and a solid international contributor, Anatoli Semenov!

Velociraptor still hasn't had his 1st rounder yet, so I'm not sure what happens here.

5 points in 6 games is a solid play-off performance.

It's a solid performance but 6 games is not much to base anything on.

If people think, I'm attacking the pick they are wrong, Jokinen is a good player here I simply think his playoff resume is underwhelming.

I would not be surprised if Jokinen was the best offensive center in the draft.

But he's a really tough guy to build around - he's more of a goal scorer than a playmaker, he's terrible defensively, and prone to bad penalties. It'll be interesting to see how Billy builds around him.
