I doubt NBC will be producing their own telecast. They will use the international feed (maybe clean to put their own graphics), which is produced by Sky.

ESPN is able to do their own broadcast because ESPN has a UK channel they can use to put on the telecast. Reduces the cost.

Games to be aired live on NBC. About 18-20

Sounds good to me!

Also seems like Arlo White would be main PBP (just speculating), no more Darkey and Macca after ESPN's contract runs out. Shame. Darkey is one of the best.

Anyone know how much this will affect (if at all) the availability of games in Canada?

So, did Bob Costas just kind of infer that all 380 games will be available on some NBC platform...

I doubt that. I don't think NBC will be sending crews to games. Like has been said, ESPN can produce their own games because they also air games in the UK. NBC does not, so they will be using the international feed, which is with the Sky's announcers.

NBC wants Arlo here stateside, being the voice of MLS. Unless he is doing games from a studio, like they've done for the Olympics, but those are terrible.

They may bring back LiveExtra, as was done for the Olympics. Hope so. I'm tired of having to.....track down my club's matches.

Well this means no more Warren Barton and Eric Wynalda, which can only be a good thing.

But it means no more Macca. And that's a very bad thing.

They have already converted it to a general sports streaming app. Though all it has streamed is Notre Dame games and ryder cup.

Though it did say it would stream its NHL's games whenever the season starts.

Well the SI story said they were in talks with British Broadcaster BT to produce the games so they could be going with original productions for the marquee matches. But I would think they hire UK based announcers. Hopefully they use some of the ITV announcers since ITV doesn't have Premier League rights over there.

Don't he and Ian Darke have contracts until 2015? Who's to say he wouldn't move to NBC after that?

Would be hilarious to see Bob Costas hosting the studio for Man U - Liverpool or Man U - Man City.

I'd like to see Arlo involved with this but not at the expense of losing him on MLS broadcasts.

This is huge for the EPL and for soccer in America. Never in a million years did I think we'd get to a point where live English soccer would be on network TV, or where over 300 games would be available legally in this country. Here's hoping QPR survives to make this worth my excitement...

What are the odds that the EPL is going to get better ratings than the NHL?

Ratings on the west coast will definitely be higher for the Saturday game I expect to be on NBC than a usual NHL game. Saturday game is 9:30 AM our time. It might take a few months or even a year, but I expect growth in ratings pretty fast. Considering the marquee game is usually at 8 on Sundays, don't think that would be too good for us out this way and local NBC stations may not even cover it.

As someone who got on the BPL bandwagon partially because of the lockout...this. is. awesome. No need to buy expensive cable packages when you can get the world's best soccer league over the air or on NBCSN. What I hope happens though is that they don't completely favor Chelsea and the Manchesters and instead put a light on the US internationals in the EPL (i.e. Howard, Dempsey).

As mentioned, no real effect but we may get to see some more games on the main NBC network, or at least get the option of watching US vs Canada versions.

Announcement on Canadian broadcast rights should be coming up soon and it's likely Sportsnet will be retaining the rights.

Ian Darke is a much-travelled man, isn't he? One day, he's in Kansas City to call a USA match and a few days later, he's back in England for a PL match.

With this deal, can NBCSN finally be on basic cable?
