Shinkaruk's sudden points explosion the last couple of games is re-assuring. Lots of people felt Etem played a huge role in his success last year. Well now Etem is gone and doing nothing offensively in the AHL so far, while Shinkaruk is back to lighting it up and looking like a top 10 pick.

Hudon- C - Gallagher

I will complete the roster and assume Drouin and Shinkaruk are not selected by Montreal:

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Collberg
Bozon - Eller - Gallagher
Hudon - Vail - Leblanc
Moen - Bournival - Prust
-Kristo and White
Subban - Gorges
Beaulieu - Tinordi
Thrower - Emelin
-Diaz and Ellis
Price
Desjardins

Now you tell me, what is the biggest weakness?

Craig Button ‏@CraigJButton
And can't forget about @Adamerne73 with 4 goals on Friday. It's as deep a draft IMO as 2003.

I think we are going to owe the Goat some thanks when the draft rolls around and we have those extra 2nd rounders. Can't wait to see how it shakes out with 5 top 75ish picks as we could be netting several future building blocks in the rebuild.

Well..I still can't believe Cammalleri couldn't fetch us a 1st round pick in return and AK46 too. Damn, even Kyle Quincey and Paul Gaustad got a 1st round pick..

He might have been able to do better, but it's still a refreshing change after a decade of seeing players leave for nothing most of the time.

we really, really need to have a season. that way, we can properly suck our way to high pick

no season, and providing they will be using last lockout draft's rule, were looking to be picking at around 15-20

Another Adam Erne show today. Only one goal but without Grigorenko, the whole show. This is a Q draft. Unlike most years, the top players this year will be from the Q. Craig Button said today that the Halifax game last night was the most exciting CHL hockey he has seen since Brad Richards was with Rimouski in around 2000.

Really looking to draft 1-30. They had 1 ball last time I think and ended up 5th.

Doesn't change the fact that having 5 of the top 75ish should be very exciting in June. Personally I was happy with the return since Cammy was terrible last season with us and was owed 14M on his contract. I really couldn't stand watching Cammalleri so I was more then happy to see the return even if it's just a 2nd + Holland they could be useful assets in time.

And the Gaustad/Quincey trades involved 2012 draft picks (many felt it was a weak draft) from teams that were playoff locks. People here really need to get it through their mind that the rest of NHL thinks Andrei Kostitsyn is nothing special, as evidenced by no one signing him this summer. There was no chance in hell a 2013 1st rounder was available.

Right, but the most probable outcome is around 20th, it isn't uniformally random. Some outcomes are more likely than others.

It's like if you roll two dice, you expect 6-8, not 2-3.

Some reason I've thought Jordan Subban will be rated in the top 30 but it seems his size and the draft's high quality may give us a chance to snag him with one of our 2nds/even 3rd.

Where is this guy projected to go? Mid first rounder?

Red Line had him at #49 but he is rising. Could jump into the 1st round if he keeps going...lots of depth in the Q this yaer.

It's interesting that we're not hearing more about him. Even as a 2nd/3rd rounder, I figured more people would be keeping tabs on him due to his family name.

Maybe he isn't that good and drafting because of name is a bad idea?

I'm not sure what that has to do with what I actually wrote.

He happens to be PPG as a 17 year old dman in the O...

...so I think he's probably pretty good.

Same here, especially considering PK gave some high praise for him a while back and he's currently leading his team in scoring (apart of 43% of Belleville's goals). That team is being carried by the Subbans.

Weighted average yes, but the system is so distributed that no good predictions on it can be made ahead of time.

On Subban, he's not just PPG and leading his team in points, he's leading by a fair margin (13 to 9). Not a common thing to see in a defenseman, even a really good junior one.

It's interesting how it looks like the only Subban that will have been drafted in the first round is Malcolm, the one who had the least amount of hype leading up to their draft year.

Also forgot to post this yesterday, for those of you who don't read the Prospects board, Barkov's shootout goal
