Just a constant threat... Such good hockey sense too.

The thing that gets me though, Rielly is already 205 6 ft. Exact same size as Kris Letang, who Rielly drew all of his comparisons from as well. True #1 D in the making. He's got the size, talent, hockey sense, and the demeanor to play in the NHL. I say play him on the big club.

Here's a sportsnet video about Morgan doing his part to help in a "Stick it to Cancer" drive in Moosejaw. Seems like such a mature kid.
Good story. Rielly is really mature beyond his age, not your typical teenager

Yes, you are correct not at all a typical teenager. Hounds helping Hounds. Morgan knew his assistant coach from Notre Dame and when the assistant coach spoke of his sisters one of them also attended and worked at Notre Dame and her children also attended.

What an inspiring person. Lost a friend to breast cancer over the weekend. Grandfather and Grandmother to cancer. Thank you Morgan!

I haven't been this excited for a Leaf prospect since.... like... Carlo Colaiacovo all those years ago. And Tuuka Rask to be honest.

Obviously those didn't quite turn out so well.

I wrote a few words on Rielly:

Quote:
Having missed nearly the entire 2011/2012 season due to a knee injury suffered last November, a lot of question marks surrounded Morgan Rielly entering the 2012 draft. A strong combine, including top 10 finishes in the leg power, bench press and grip test helped alleviate some concerns, but it would be remiss to say there weren’t a few eyebrows raised when the Leafs selected Rielly 5th overall last June with forwards Mikhail Grigorenko and Filip Forsberg still on the board. However, with 20 points in 16 games to open this season, it is safe to say the knee is not an issue.

I've never been as excited about a Leafs prospect as I am about this kid. At the draft I was disappointed we didn't take Forsberg or Grigorenko who are both having stellar starts to their seasons as well, but every time I see Rielly play I get more and more impressed.

A Rielly-Phaneuf pairing could be one of the best in the league; especially on the pp. I can see Phaneuf having another 20 goal year if he gels with Rielly, and if he does opposing teams will start to key in on him on the PP opening up space for guys like Kessel.

I remember that combine, it was defining moment for rielly in my eyes. Before, I had always shrugged him off as a small one dimensional offensive defenseman (murphy 2.0). But when i saw that he was 6'05 200, i started to take him seriously. After doing more research on him, I found out that he had very high iq, an active stick as well as a strong compete level. He had no real weakness either. He became my favourite prospect and i fist pumped when we selected him. He was a good pick.

yea, he's easily one of the best in junior hockey. during the streams you get to listen in to what he's saying during the commercial breaks. usually chattin with the colour guy about the warriors. seems like a really chill guy and he lives and breathes this hockey team...you can just tell her really cares about the kids and hopes they succeed.

I was the oposite ha, wasn't even on my radar, was hoping for a forward but I still knew no matter what, I trust the scouts. I was screaming "WHAAAT!!!" and got really excited. I would have loved anyone though

Really is something watching that guy move the puck out there. Plus just like the personality he has. Makes it all the easier to look forward to seeing how good he is going to get.

Try noticing that multiple people pointed that out over 12 hours ago. Kind of missed the bus.

If I understand the rules correctly, Rielly isn't eligible to play on the Marlies until the 2014/15 season. If this is the case and the NHL remains locked out for the entire 2012/13 season, do you guys see Rielly back with the Warriors next season or with the Leafs?
