Five Questions with Julien

Julien at NHL.com

Take us into a rivalry, Boston-Vancouver: Is there really as much hatred as we think there is?

"No doubt. No doubt there is."

I love hockey. It's one of the few sports where the hate is real.

Love Claude Julien, always have.

I wish he'd 'make himself available' to the Providence coaching staff.

He's been at several Providence games, and from what I've heard, he and the Bruins assistants have indeed been working with the Providence staff.

How fortunate are we, Bill? Julien is the type of leader I admire the most.

I couldn't reasonably ask for any better.

I supported Julien before it was popular, and I'm proud and glad I did.

You can't teach talent, but discipline enhances talent, and Julien is a great teacher of discipline.

You and I both. As well as the idea of keeping Timmy around. One of the reasons I can still read your insanity. I know you have the ability to be well-reasoned.

Loved the answer to question 5, how often do I come on here and read fans screaming/blaming Julien for instructing the team to do little more than sit back and protect leads.

Were a pretty fortunate bunch here, I recall, I believe Ference referring to Julien`s calmness behind the bench when he called that TO in game 3 behind a few goals(a timeout every coach would have called but..), how when the players saw their coach remaining calm, it settled them down too, can see Torts in that situations, ripping his players a new one, of course, some fans here would love it describing his approach as "passionate" which, no doubt it is, but you need not yell, scream nor be a sideshow behind the bench to be effective IMO.

The Neely intervention in Jan of 2010 and again in 2011 forced Julien to modify his game plan for the remainder of that season. A historic goaltending performance probably saved his job in the subsequent SC victory.http://boston.sportsthenandnow.com/2...-neely-speaks/

Agreed. He's one of the best coaches in the NHL. Glad he's here and I'm glad Chiarelli has the good sense to look past the ups and downs. Remember when this team would fire coaches for losing streaks? Julien is here for the long haul and that's a great thing for Bruins fans.

Bah! You hipster...

I supported Julien once he learned to shorten his bench when it mattered. I've always liked him as a personality, but he cost me some hair back in the '09 and '10 seasons, playing the fourth line at the worst imaginable times. He's good, he's cool, he's got style, class, taste...but he coached like a buffoon at times.

Not that that's how I'll remember him, in the end...

When the Chiarelli/Julien era is over in Boston, I think most fans will realize how lucky we were if they haven't already. Hopefully they want to stay in Boston for a long time

Too many times to count

IMO Claude has done a great job since becoming the Bruins' head coach. I hope Chiarelli has the sense to keep him around once this latest contract extension is over.
