It isn't raining here currently, but it did earlier today and the wind is picking up. The bulk of the storm hasn't arrived yet, and I'm anxious for when it does.

I think I'm one of the few people who had work today, all the schools are out and many businesses are closed. I'm just hoping I still have power when I get home.

I went out and spent $50 on chips and mixers from Wawa this morning. Everything will be alright. If the power holds I may be able to rewatch every episode of The Wire while I am stuck in.

I stand corrected after googling it. Still not sure if I can get there for a Locos Taco tomorrow.

ok, camera is all sealed up. I taped my lens hood to a ziploc bag, cut out a hole for the lens and taped all around to seal it up. Front element is protected with a UV filter, and the bag is pretty much entirely sealed. It's not submersible, but it'll work fine for shooting in the rain. I'll go out in a bit to take some photos.

I haven't really been hit hard yet. Just drizzling, really.

I live about a mile west of the Delaware River on the Pennsylvania side, so I'm bracing for the worst.

This is it? I wake up and there is no wind at all and just a tiny bit of rain. I have a feeling Sandy is gonna be a bust.

Ya, especially because tomorrow is supposed to be worse than today in terms of rain, flooding, and power loss. Having it today might have been better.

It's still not here yet. Wait until tomorrow when the bulk of the storm arrives.

A lot of people stayed home from work today. This place is deserted. I might leave early if my boss says it's cool.

Not much going on here. Was at Quick Chek an hour ago. Plenty of people there and on the roads. Minimal rain, nothing special in terms of wind. But I loaded up on coffee, so I'm good. My only regret is not picking up any liquor. How will the beer survive if I lose power?

Some Europeans drink it warm, you could try that.

Ricky Gervais's thoughts on the hurricane:

Ricky Gervais ‏@rickygervais

This "Sandy" who's on TV all the time and is blowing the entire east coast, I assume she's a Kardashian right?

None Shall Pass has a horse head mask.

Work canceled for tomorrow.

Rumor has it "state of emergency" days do not need to be made up in the calendar. That would be nice but what would be even better is if my district is basically spared. Irene was devastating.

But... but... I don't want to Its already cold now, so if it goes warm it will get even worse. I think if the power goes out, I should immediately pull it out of the fridge and start drinking. If I wait more than a minute or two to open that fridge, I will probably be ruining everything in there by opening the door later. Maybe this theory doesn't work, but if it makes me happy, and gets me my beer, I'll accept it.

Clearly the best solution is to chug it all now.
