That's an issue for your cable provider.

First im ecstatic that I dont have to listen to the talking anus that is Ian Darke after this season.

However, I am a little worried that they will focus on ManU, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool etc..I would hope that other teams will be shown as much as they are on FSC. Still though, considering comcast doesnt have FSC in HD in my area that I know of, having NBC and NBCSN in HD will be awesome.

just a side note, Ian Darke all summer was ripping on NBC on his twitter during the Olympics

Would be kind of silly for either side to offer their services after that

From what I read, Arlo White will be the main EPL commentator, so I guess they are doing things in house

Ian Darke is possibly the best soccer commentator widely available to Americans right now. I would even say he is better than Martin Tyler.

His level of excitement at events is simply unparalleled.

Now Aguero, looking for the one-two with Balotelli, now Aguero, he could win it! Oh! He's won the title, surely, for Manchester City! An unbelievable finish! Two goals in stoppage time! Has the title ever been won more dramatically than that?! Who is writing this stuff?

Except that every time there is a goal that is remotely close to offside he goes "Surely that won't count! Surely! But I guess it is being given." It doesn't even really have to be that close to offside and he starts screaming at the ref, even if the linesman got it right.

I'm not a huge fan of Darke either, he is passable I guess but its McManaman who drives me nuts.

He is fine for the EPL, but I have problems with Darke doing international games, he is such a homer for the USA since the 2010 World Cup and during the Euros such an England homer too (yeah he criticized them a lot but he definetely got tingly everytime they scored ).

His knowledge outside of the EPL + Barca/Real seems limited which was shown in the Euro broadcast. Best example I can think of was the Dutch goalkeeping situation, he was surprised Stekelenburg was chosen ahead of Vorm and Krul (two EPL goalkeepers)...ummm hello Stekelenburg has been their #1 for years!

didn't La Liga just sign a 3 year deal with BeIN? There really isn't much out there for Fox to go after except the Bundesliga.

You guys keep talking about bringing Darke and Macca over to NBC but you're forgetting Alexi Lalas.

Hire Foudy away from ESPN. She's a better commentator than just about any guy I can think of in the US.

They won't, they've already stated they will air 6 games a week, plus all the games not aired will available online.

Sportsnet and TSN splitting rights in Canada. TSN getting more games in the new setup. Also means all matches will be shown (at least that's what it sounds like).

@JohnMolinaro: Pleased to announce @Sportsnet has secures a 3-year broadcast extension with English Premier League. 190 matches per year through to 2016

@LukeWileman: In new deal announced today, #TSN will broadcast English Premier League matches for the next 3 years, with 190 matches per season

You compare Martin Tyler's call of Aguero's goal to Ian Darke's. Ian's is better.

Darke

They're going to show ALL the games that are currently airing between FS and ESPN and then some. They aren't going to focus on the top teams because there are more time slots than their are games involving top teams. There isn't always one of the big teams playing in the 7:45 or 12:30 game on Saturday, for instance.

I prefer Tyler over Darke, although I can see why one can argue the other point as well. Tyler gives you the game straight, and fits the definition of the term "presenter" to the T, something you don't see much in the States outside of a Vin Scully character. I see Darke as the Gus Johnson of soccer if Gus called it full time.

Love listening to Tyler call the games. No women commentators please, I literally can't even watch then.

So with all of this does anybody know what's happening to GOLTV and the Bundesliga rights?

Darke is no where near Martin Tyler.

Martin Tyler is awesome (better be coming over to NBC if they get the deal) and same with Ian, but the best is Peter Drury IMO.

Julie Foudy is awful, she could barely do MLS games so there is no way she could step up that much to the EPL.

That's not how it works.

Tyler works for Sky Sports (News Corp.). That is who produces the international feed.

NBC will likely choose to use the international feed for it's broadcasts. Everyone does, except ESPN, who have done their own audio feeds since they broadcast games in the UK as well.

So Tyler will not be 'coming over' to NBC in the sense that they'd hire him, because he isn't available. But he likely will be used by them.
